Crack down on Google: Microsoft

The elephant in the room is Microsoft that produces crappy bug-riddled software that pisses people off, as a result Microsoft finds itself incapable of competing and the solution is that Microsoft needs to fix itself instead of trying to drag Google down to Microsoft's level of retardation.

They can't even get Internet Exploder right. *sigh*

You still hanging with Slowfox? :wtf:

Big respect, AJ!

Not slow at all? In fact I love it over Chrome that still downloads ads (Just do not display them)
Also Greasmonkey + noscript made it next to impossible for me to switch :)

But lets not start a browser war here, besides anything is better than IE, even Opera.

They are both good, but Google has got more cash to pay hackers to try and hack Chrome, so for me, it's the safest browser.

What's this "hack chrome" you mention, doesn't make sense to me.

Google hosts competitions with prize money for anyone who successfully manages to find and exploit vulnerabilities in Google's Chrome browser.

Microsoft also has lots of money that Microsoft could use to pay people to find and exploit vulnerabilities in Internet Exploder but there are so many security holes in IE that Microsoft would go bankrupt handing out prize money.

And I love Google Chrome! I've got everything synced from my desktop to my Android phone, to my work laptop, everything!

Am I a bad person?

Yeah you waste data by not using opera which can do all that and more.I simply refuse to use a browser without speed dials in this day and age.;)

But back tot he topic at hand I think Microsoft has a point here,Google is giving Apple access to dedicated youtube app because Apple already has the numbers which they want but on the other hand they are discouraging people buying into wp8 by not giving them a dedicated app and hence trying to kill competition in the mobile space, believe it or not thats worse for all of us.

I am a Google fan and use google extensively, gmail, maps, android etc etc but in this case I'm fully behind microsoft...Google needs to be taken to task over this for all of our sakes.

Are you saying google is in the wrong for not writing a youtube app for windows? Surely google can choose what apps for which os they want to produce.

If you read the article they clearly state google is withholding code they need to make the app.Miscrosoft seems keen to make the native app themselves so yes Google is wrong.

Go back, that's not what I'm talking about. Lets look at your comment again:

So my question to you is: Google is in the wrong for not writing a youtube app for windows?

Nope that hardly a big issue here, maybe it doesnt make much business sense to write an app for a platform with less number of users for now.

What I have issue with is the fact that they are withholding help/info/code for MS to make a youtube app.

I think where you may have got confused is when I said dedicated app,a dedicated app does not have to be made by google at all.Microsoft can make a dedicated youtube app also for its platform.

So if google is sharing all this stuff with other Phone OSes (basically only Apple and RIM)... why aren't there youtube apps developed by apple and rim?

Because Google did it for Apple? Is that the unfair bit here?

Google developed the apps for Apple and rim because of their current user volumes to get more people onto youtube where it makes money of advertisements etc so it makes sense for google to develop an app for that.

If Google doesn't want to develop an app for windows phone then so be it (for whatever reason),but why hold back microsoft from developing an app for the most popular video database in the world?

Holding back Microsoft reeks of foul play to make WP less appealing to consumers due to no youtube client.

Hard to comprehend?

As pointed out before, I would love to know how they holding them back? Seeing that the API's are both freely available (License & terms) and Open source so please can someone tell me how Google is actively blocking Microsoft?

Only reason I can think of is that its covered by Apache 2 license forcing the use of such code to make the source made available upon request. In short if they gonna try and do some deep integration instead of a stand alone app they gonna have to show their hand.

Thats why it should be taken to task to decide if microsoft have a valid claim.

MS should come with proof first, then they can be taken to task. In the US you are innocent until you are proven guilty, you don't get "taken to task to see if the other party have a valid claim." MS either has a valid claim, where Google is not providing the API, or they are engaging in FUD. Given what was posted earlier, I would guess the second is the case.

Exactly what I was thinking.
Looks like MS are just peeved off because they don't control/own Youtube and are worried about Google Android market dominance.
Sounds very similar to the Apple vs Samsung litigation.

If MS have a better/cheaper product it will make inroads into the market much like Android did.
What is good for the goose is good for the gander.

Sorry I don't know what the whole process is exactly in this but when I say taken to task I don't mean be punished I mean be investigated with regards to these claims.

The joke is they have there own YouTube (Be it MSN or BING) and I do not see any API or such coming from them?
