Craigslist adult services ban

Craigslist closed the adult services section of its website Saturday, replacing it with a black bar that says "censored," just over a week after a group of state attorneys general said there weren't enough protections against blocking potentially illegal ads promoting prostitution.
 
Stupid politicians. The sex ads in Newspapers are just as explicit, but they don't seem to have a problem with that. Maybe it's because they grew up using those to procure prostitutes or jerking off to them.

Silly craigslist, why didn't they employ a lobby group. Think of all the money they'll loose now when they could have just 'lobbied' erm bribed a few politicians.

Good point. Censor the papers too.
 
Typical political bullshiiit. A lot of politicians have been getting caught with women...and men they bought from Craigslist adult section hence the shut-down. They just want a private network now where they can find prostitutes for themselves hidden from the general public.

Sigh.

Keep it up. No rulez. Maybe one day you'll have a son or daughter that gets trafficked on some site.
Maybe you can even respond to one of those ads and you could end up meeting your son or daughter...

We're already headed in that direction.

Authorities point to the case of 24-year-old Philip Markoff as a prime example of the dangers posed by Craigslist services. The former medical student was accused of killing a masseuse he met through the hugely popular classified advertising site, which was founded by Craig Newmark. Markoff committed suicide in the Boston jail where he was awaiting trial.

So because somebody who uses Craigslist got into trouble it means it's Graigslist's fault? I can think of hundreds of other situations like these that include other mediums, none of which have had to be banned because of it.

Sex for hire = Illegal
Murder for hire = Illegal
Should people be able to post on Craigslist offering both services?

OR is this more a debate on whether prostitution should be legal?, and thats why people feel like this is unfair / wrong for them to make them stop posting those ads?
I think if the debate is ACTUALLY whether or not prostitution should be legal that makes more sense, because advertising illegal activity - well thats just a bad idea, and not very smart.

maybe... alternatively the parents could raise their children properly instead of blaming the world for their own failures at parenting.

I agree - but thats not the point.
If we are debating the legalization if prostitution - fine let do that.
But no one should advocate the advertising of illegal services?
 
Quite a few parents that had their children listed were good parents that never taught their children those ways.
The error in logic that you are making is assuming a 9 year old has enough knowledge to take on the world. Even
at 15/16 most children are quite gullible and trust way too many people. If they still resist, they can probably be
"fixed" with a drug to ensure cooperation.

Sites like these should never have existed. Any historian will tell you that before any advanced civilization disintegrates and
is overcome by the barbarians at the gate, the cancer of sexual perversion precedes it. This has been the case
for 6000+ years now. It's just plain stupid really if you even try to see the bigger picture.

Q. How do sites like these help to build these "proper" families that you want ?
