CRC Errors on Asus DSL N14U

Hi guys,

So i'll preface this by saying I know I don't have the best line stats, but my DSL has been working pretty much perfectly for the past year, apart from a slight decrease in my sync when I was switched from fast path to interleaved. My Asus DSL N14U has also never given me problems, but for the past few days I have randomly been seeing very large numbers of CRC errors (downstream). This just started a few days ago with no apparent reason; my line is syncing at the same speed it always has, with more or less the same line stats as it always (despite the CRC errors of course). The real shocker is however when I plug in my old billion 400g. the CRC errors completely disappears. Does anyone have any ideas as to what could be happening here?

This is a 20mbps DSL line.

In the many, many years that I've had DSL - there's always been CRC errors to some degree. It never affected anything.

6K frames with CRC's aren't that much either. I wouldn't be too stressed TBH.

6k errors in 2 minutes?

Horrible.

Generally I would agree with you, I normally ignore CRCs, but 6k CRCs in 2 minutes is extreme, it has led to very inconsistent speeds (as in I'll have no throughput at all for a few seconds) , and dropped connections, it's nearly unusable with the DSL N14U

Good day,

Have you submitted a feedback from the UI so our tech guys can have a look at it?

Thanks.

Only way to counter CRC is to lower your speed. All things being equal - like physical line and filter etc

Last time I had CRC issues, I set my router to G.DMT

Problem disappeared, but my line synced slightly lower.

DSL-N14U as well.
