Hi,

First off, not sure if this is in the correct forum :?

I want to create a directory/folder tree that i can import into Excel. I vaguely remember something about the dos command prompt, tree, etc...

What I would like to do is get a tree listing of a specific folder, its sub folders and files, with sizes - all this then exported to excel into separate columns. Without too much hassle and technical programming.

Any help would be appreciated.

On Windows XP Pro:

Click: Start, Run
Enter: cmd
Enter: tree>c:\tree.txt

It's here: c:\tree.txt

On Windows XP Pro:

Click: Start, Run
Enter: cmd
Enter: tree>c:\tree.txt

It's here: c:\tree.txt

Then: Open up excel 2010
Go to Data --> From Text --> Import the above file.

Then (still in excel):
Go to data --> Text to Columns

Then:
Celebrate :D
