Good day,
I hope someone can maybe help me. I want to create a private network at home.
I do have Wi-Fi installed. I have a Ok ish desktop on the network via LAN cable.

What i want to do is create a folder on the desktop, where i will be storing movies and series, that will be accessible by guests via the Wi-Fi network.

Any suggestions and help on how i can do this?

Get Plex Server. Install it on your desktop. You can then link up TV's and all other type of devices and people can stream via the network.

Thanks guys so far.
The plan is to access it via tvs, PC's and/or Pones.

I am at a commune, so when the internet is down, i still want everyone to access my movies on my pc, but not any other info on the pc.
Keep in mind i am not very skillful in IT

Install Emby Media Server.
The "clients" can then install the Emby app on their devices and stream ;-)

Plex

Place your Movies, Series, Audio, etc on one of your secondary drives.
Install Plex on your hosting PC then select the folders that you want to share in Plex.
Everyone else will have to install Plex on their devices and they will have access to your media.

Thank you.
I will try the Plex idea and send some feedback.
Thanks everyone.
