Cricket: International Discussion Thread

Just shows you how the pitch can change in a matter of hours. Pakistan was unfortunate to lose to the toss.

ENG 209/3 (20)

PAK 142/8 (20)

England win by 67 runs and clinch the series!

Anyone else seen the blatant obstruction and cheating from wade in the eng vs aus game?

Namibia have again been discriminate against by the ICC. They need to qualify for the over wc of 2027 even though they are co-hosts with SA & Zim. SA and Zim don't need to qualify as they are full ICC members.

The ridiculous discrimination from the ICC continues...

Good comeback from England. After being 150 odd for 6, they ended on 287 thanks largely to Malan's excellent 134. Australia really let them off the hook and will have some work to do to chase this down.

Cue frothing at the mouth in 3...2...1

Decks cleared for Warner to apply against lifetime leadership ban

David Warner will now be able to apply against the lifetime leadership ban he copped in the aftermath of the Newlands ball-tampering episode in 2018.

Cricket Australia, on the back of Friday's board meeting in Hobart, has tweaked the Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, paving the way for players to "apply to have long-term sanctions modified", CA said in a release.

"Any applications will be considered by a three-person Review Panel, comprising independent Code of Conduct Commissioners, which must be satisfied that exceptional circumstances exist to justify modifying a sanction," the release further clarified. "These circumstances and considerations will include whether the subject of the sanction has demonstrated genuine remorse; the subject's conduct and behaviour since the imposition of the sanction; whether rehabilitation programs have been completed undertaken (if applicable) and the length of time that has passed since the sanction was imposed and whether sufficient time has passed to allow for reform or rehabilitation.

The amendment to the Code of Conduct is: "Acknowledges that Players and Player Support Personnel are capable of genuine reform or rehabilitation and is intended to provide the Player or Player Support Personnel with an opportunity to resume their previously held positions or responsibilities in specific circumstances."
