Difficult to feel any sympathy for England when their supporters behave like a bunch of boorish naive Neanderthals.

And that disgusting scene of some waspish drunken old fcks confronting Warner and Kawaja in the long room at the lunch break just leaves a sour taste in the mouth.

Australia are dislikeable, but England is far worse imo.

Great knock from Stokes. Bit of luck mixed in, but gave it a good go. Missed most of the end, but not much left for him to do when his partners started disappearing. Sally being a cnut as usual.
 
Scotland are in a possible completely outside chance of upsetting Zimbabwe. This game has so many twists and turns.

Of course it is out. Rule one as a batsmen is to stay in your crease. There's no law that you can only be stumped if the keeper is standing up to the wicket. If you watch the replay you'll see Stokes walking back towards his own crease at the non-striker's end while Bairstow is leaving his.
 
Former England white-ball captain Eoin Morgan:

"There was a huge sense of frustration [in the crowd] but I can't understand why? It's complete naivety around Bairstow's dismissal.

"The ball is not dead at any stage when Bairstow leaves his crease. He was obviously in his own little bubble - and you cannot do that.

"It's actually really smart from Carey, recognising what is going on - Bairstow living in his own little world - and seeing an opportunity to take a wicket. I don't see it compromising the spirit of the game."

Former England captain, Sir Andrew Strauss:

"Australia are the villains, as far as England fans are concerned - especially Cummins and his decision not to withdraw that appeal of Bairstow.

"Cummins will get plenty of stick for the rest of the series, I would've thought, off the back of that.

"You could argue that it was against the spirit of cricket. In truth, I think there was absolutely nothing wrong with it but, of course, the crowd will see it through English patriotic eyes.

"Bairstow was being dozy going outside of his crease. I was pretty comfortable with what Australia did."

Sounds about right, anyone expecting Australia to withdraw their appeal need to watch another sport
 
On the plus side, that decision seems to have lit a fire under England. Wouldn't be surprised if they sweep through the rest of the tests. They almost got there yesterday with all that fire in their belly. Well, Stoke's anyway.
