Nah mate. This is Ashes test cricket, not backyard cricket where you give your pal a second chance to bat.

Its poor from JB. Any under 10s coach worth his salt would say never leave your crease until umpire calls "over".

This sanctimonious rubbish from the England team and English media is insufferable. They love chatting **** but forget they've lost 6 Ashes tests in a row.

Also Broad on his high horse, but who remembers when he edged Agar to first slip in the 2013 Ashes series? He then said in the aftermath "we have a win-at-all-costs mentality". Baz also has a history of so-called "unsportsmanlike" stumpings and runouts, so their double standards are plain to see.

I mean, it takes a lot to get South Africans to back Australia, but the poms have made it pretty easy tbh.

Those were my sentiments exactly.
 
So that's that for Zim. They are not playing in the world cup.

Safyaan Sharif to Chatara, out Bowled!! That's it! That's all there is! Scotland win and it's heartbreak for Zimbabwe!

So it's up to Netherlands and the Scots in the next game.
 
Scotland and Holland giving the ICC a big finger for trying to exclude the associates from the WC.

Sad for Zim but Scotland were the better team on the day .

Interesting perspective from Stuart Broad (who apparently writes a column in the Daily Mail).

Broad said, for him, the crux of the matter was whether Bairstow was "looking to gain an advantage" and dismissed comparisons to previous incidents where England were the team trying to effect the dismissal.

"Yes, I have seen a clip from earlier in the match when in his guise as wicketkeeper, Jonny himself threw the ball at the stumps. But that was because Marnus Labuschagne was batting outside of his crease -- in doing so, attempting to take the lbw out of the game. In other words, seeking an advantage," Broad wrote. "Clips of Colin de Grandhomme being run out in the Lord's Test last year have done the rounds, too, and that is just the most ludicrous comparison ever, because he got hit on the pad coming down the pitch, was searching for a run and Ollie Pope threw down the stumps from gully. Again, trying to gain an advantage.

"With regards to the Jonny incident, zero advantage was being taken there: he let the ball go, scratched his mark within the crease, and acknowledging it as the end of the over, went to speak to Ben Stokes. And if you look at the footage of when the stumps were broken, one umpire has got the bowler's cap in his hand, the other is head down, walking in from square leg -- actions that suggest they too thought the over had finished.

Broad's comments on 'gaining an advantage' is one that I never considered and I can see what he means. But, I still think it was a perfectly fair dismissal and with the laws and spirit of the game. Bairstow had a brainfart, no doubt. His silence on the matter probably speaks volumes.

Regardless, this will rumble on for years to come I'm sure.
