Cricket: International Discussion Thread

In principle, is an accusation of rape sufficient to disqualify someone from, say, representing their country even if a jury finds them not guilty?
If a guy says in court the victim said no more then a few times, yes it is.
The fact that a highly paid defence lawyer managed to confuse the jury regarding consent doesn't change what this guy is. We all know the low % of convictions when it comes to sexual crime. In a case of he said/she said its very hard to proof beyond reasonable doudt.

Or would you have liked oj to play again also...

So guilty by virtue of trial by media?

No using his own admittance in court.
But hey you are happy to have reprehensible characters present you that is your choice. Some of us will continue to speak out against guys like kuggelejin...

I am aware that media portrayals and reality are often two different worlds. I'm not a believer in overruling a court verdict just because one didn't like the picture the media painted.

What he said is documented by court records. Its not made up by the media...

And an entire jury of his peers deemed him to be not guilty
Do you believe oj did it...a Jury also found him not guilty...

They deemed there wasn't enough evidence to find kuggelejin guilty beyond a reasonable doudt not that he wasn't guilty. Due to the way his defence lawyer attacked the victim. Which is why unless you have a squeaky clean angel as a victim the perpetrator will get off 90% of the time.

Back to the actual cricket. Marnus gets a talking to for getting into the danger area on the pitch but goes to his first 50 in some time.
Lyon dropped first over of southee.

The saviours of test cricket going home with a whimper.
England 141/7
If I remember correctly, we had this conversation in the run-up to the Ashes last year. Incredible amount of resistance at the time. I suspect it was mainly because of saffas instinctively rooting for anyone matched against Australia. Time has borne out my reservations about bazball. It was a cock-up then, and it's a cock-up now.
