Cricket: International Discussion Thread

If I remember correctly, we had this conversation in the run-up to the Ashes last year. Incredible amount of resistance at the time. I suspect it was mainly because of saffas instinctively rooting for anyone matched against Australia. Time has borne out my reservations about bazball. It was a cock-up then, and it's a cock-up now.
They didn't lose the ashes. This is the first series they lost under bazz ball'. Its fun laughing at their arrogance but currently its more successful then their last traditional cricketing attempt.

Not really the point. Since before the Ashes they've said that they will save test cricket with bazball. I'm not referring to an Ashes win or loss. Merely referring to the resistance at the time (we love to hate the Aussies), and agreeing with what you said:
The saviours of test cricket going home with a whimper.
Had this been an Australia loss to India, there would have been calls for Cummins and McDonald to resign.

Not sure about that. AUS haven't won a series in India for 2 decades. Doudt recall many calls after those for the captain to resign.

There have been calls for Cummins to resign since he took over.

But again, not the point.

England 141/7

That was the point. You made it.

Raining on Day 4.
Play to resume at 12 pm Local Time, that is about 40 minutes from now. The covers came off a while ago and there was an inspection too, and we're good to start the cricket one hour later than the scheduled start.

Sri Lanka all out for 531 in their first innings against Bangladesh with not a single century.

Not a great effort by NZ.
PS. Where is outrage about NZ sending a b/c to Pakistan cause the others are playing IPL...outrage only reserved for Proteas...
