Cricket: International Discussion Thread

Even if India wins the series in Oz by 3-something, we can still pass them without even winning in Durban. Pretty significant result that.

Thanks, Black Caps.

NZ won 3 tosses...handy when the pitch was like this match's (the first 2 weren't as bad as this game's).

India won the toss in the first match, misread the conditions and batted first, getting bundled for 40 something. It wasn't a 40 all out wicket though. They just batted crap.

Anyone following the Hong Kong Sixes? Sounds like sevens rugby but cricket?

Cricinfo:
Sri Lanka triumphs over Pakistan.

That is the original very-limited overs competition. It's been going since the early 90s. And different to other tournaments, we've actually one this a good couple of times

Australia letting it slip horribly against Pakistan.

1st ODI from the MCG

Pakistan: 203 all out (46 overs)
Australia: 163/7 after 25 overs.

They were 139/3 at one stage.

Australia batting depth saved them. Good game all the same.

I am really pleased for the NZ clean sweep in India. There might be some luck in it, but 3-0 is still a massive achievement in their back yard. They would surely have prescribed the conditions and pitches. Was an interesting test series to watch.

Yoh, Australia pummeled by Pakistan

Toss: Pakistan who elected to bowl
Australia: 163 all out in 35 overs
Pakistan: 169/1 in 26.3 overs

Series levelled. Both teams very inconsistent. The norm for Pakistan, but unusual for Aus, especially at home.

Even in that first match win though, Australia laboured to victory, losing 8 wickets chasing a modest 203. Their batting does seem to be misfiring at the moment. On both occasions, it was Haris Rauf who was the destroyer in chief for Pakistan. He's reveling on those fast, bouncy Aussie pitches and the Australian batsmen can't cope with it right now. They have got some introspection to do before the decider.

One of the Aussie commentators called him Wreck-it Rauf :)

If the Aussie selectors were confident about their top order, they wouldn't be picking both Smith and Labuschagne.

If anyone wants to watch Afghanistan Vs Bangladesh.... Supersport letting us down as always

or

Australia humbled again by Pakistan, losing by 8 wickets after being skittled for 140 odd.
