I don't know the Aussie team that well but there were some names I don't recognize. Are these the "new" blood that supposed to carry Australia forward?

Almost the whole bowling lineup is injured, but doesnt explain the batting collapse

Yes. But you wouldn't exactly classify the bowlers as youngers(only if they played for jsk or csk). Batsmen are very fairly young.
 
2nd odi also not shown... Have to sail the seas again to watch.
