Cricket: International Discussion Thread

Opening the batting in tests is the most beautiful thing a human being can do. All the slay queens will go chase after golden boy at number four, leaving a decent woman who will talk to you as opener, saying, “I saw how nicely you left everything outside off, I think you’ll make a good father to my kids”.
Crawley and Duckett want to know what this leaving outside off thing are you talking about.

From the context in that article it sounds like he has been carrying a large chip on his shoulder.

Sucks for us Test lovers. I don't care for BBL cricket. I'd love a rebroadcast of the day's play for these 2 am Ashes' Tests. Too niche for them to consider that though sadly. I remember the Proteas' 2009 Perth Test match getting this treatment, I think the whole tour did?

It's obviously different when SA are playing

Tit for tat. Just how india refused to play in Pakistan.

The ICC set a precedent by allowing it.

But we all know the BCCI has the ICC in its pocket, so not expecting a positive outcome for Bangladesh.

BTW, what safety and security concerns? Anybody know whats the issue?

I don't think they even did it for other SA tours besides the 2009 one? The Ashes is the biggest thing going in Test cricket, I'd like more than just 30 minute highlights. I'm a niche viewer though, that I understand.

This ain't no "tit for that". Bangladesh must have some genuine concerns. The BCCI finances cricket in that region, and some others beyond that.

Bangladesh's Ministry of Information and Broadcasting issued a directive on Monday banning the broadcast of the IPL in the country.

This comes days after the BCCI ordered IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders to drop Bangladeshi pacer Mustafizur Rahman from their squad.

How lovely is this - a test match set to go 5 days. Although Eng will do well not to lose from here.

Also, is this Green's last game for a while? I'd pick Webster over him every day of the week.

Drop Green and they really are Grand dad's Army.

Also bit early to say this is going 5 days, never now what bazzballers do tomorrow.

England have selected a batsman who has scored 1131 first class runs at an average of 28 (and never a hundred) to bat at no 3.

Their whole county and selection process is a sham.

Edit: there were 9 players who scored over a thousand runs in division one this year. They averaged between 66 and 43, and all scored multiple hundreds.
Ballsy selection that seems to have paid off.

Good innings by Bethel but he should actually have been out for 27.
Green decided to jump infront of Smith for a catch that would have gone easily to him and then dropped it.

I don't really watch the BBL or Super Smash but that BBL match Strikers vs Renegades was very entertaining. Right to the very last ball drama.
