Cricket: International Discussion Thread

Aus win the series 4-1. More controversy with RTS as weatherald cleared edge a ball early on but not given out even after RTS showed impact.

Also in more off field issues brook on final warning after altercation with bouncer in New Zealand.

This ashes has been a bit of a none event in all honesty.

One of the most disappointing iterations of it, in a long time.

Wasn't really much different then the usual ashes in Aus. Its only really competitive in england.

Did anyone watch the BBL yesterday? Renegades vs Thunder?

Rizwan was batting and struggling to find the middle of the bat, but I don't think he was wasting deliveries but then from the dugout Will Sutherland was shouting at Rizwan and Sutherland started walking on forcing Rizwan to retire.

Sutherland goes on and scores 1 then gets run out.
That left a bad taste in my mouth. It just feels like the Aussies find ways to bring Cricket as a whole into disrepute. Terrible. What was even worse is the commentators saying yes good idea it should have happened 2 overs back.

What do you guys think?

Did a batsman retire out recently in the SA20 too?

26(23) isn't good enough in T20 but the way it was done was still rude. It's like it was never discussed before so they had no protocol in place for how to do it, even though it's in the rules.

Tbh, an overseas pro is like a contractor in the workplace and I've seen contractors get treated much worse (saw a dude get let go middle of a group Zoom call once).

I don't recall it but maybe.

That is the thing. It was very disrespectful and then you send the Captain in and he does worse. The message should have been 2 overs back to Rizwan. We need to score try by all means to score and if you give your wicket away its okay. The way it was done there for the whole world to see was just rude and disrespectful.

Makes no sense to me to retire a guy out. Surely they would have a conversation with the next batter and tell him whats the expectation - sometimes, with quick wickets i guess you cant. But plan a signal to the guys to say hit even at the expense of your wicket.

What am i missing?

Potentially more pain and suffering loading for SA fans.

I see that indian side that put us to the sword lost to England in a warm up.

Some quality sides at the tournament...

Let me skip this then

Afghanistan cruising here, well placed at 88/1 after 20.4 overs...
