CRICKET: SA v India

"We have confirmation of what happened. Apparently, Sachin Tendulkar was off the field yesterday for too long, and he cannot bat at No.4. He was just informed, it seems. He looks chuffed up there on the balcony. Anyway, now we have Ganguly. "

"Ntini to Dravid, no run, jaffa! good length delivery, this one swung back in and Dravid is beaten comprehensively, not sure if there was bit of wood involved. South Africans were convinced but the umpire is unmoved, what drama"

Cr4p. It all seems so exciting and all i can do is see commentary on cricinfo :(

edit: Nazkul posted as u posted :)

Who do you guys think would get the man of the series award? early predictions?
I rate it will either be Sreesanth (he has 18 wickets this series) or Ashwell prince.
If Polly gets five he'd be in with a shot I think. Sreesanth on the Indians side is probably their best chance. The only other one that stands out (not in this Test though) is Prince.

The pitch started to turn very quickly, which is a little *** considering how flat it was day 1 and 2. SA shouldv'e picked up the pace a bit yesterday when Prince and Kallis were in. Boucher and Polly were scoring twice as fast as the prior two.

Still no P.M.s for those beers. Don't you guys want your beer
what was the deal again? ;) :D

Rule or no rule, the Indian players should have been informed that Tendulkar was unable to bat at that time. They should have been prepared. So who made the actual screw-up?

Looks like India will declare 10-20 overs before the day ends and set a target of around 320. I don't think it's possible to chase that on this wicket so let's hope we can bat out a day. Unless we take 3-4 wickets in the first hour after lunch.

:o for the Indians.

So, can Tendulkar bat, but just not yet?

Edit: okay to reply to myself, yes. :p

Also, form Cricinfo: Update on that Tendulkar incident: Umpire Harper said at the lunch break, "South African boys did discuss the possibility of a time-out, but this is real cricket ... This is Test cricket. I explained the situation to them and said I wouldn't give them out. You have to consider the circumstances and these were exceptional ones."

Glad they didn't appeal or fuss about it.

ya i think indians will declare 10 overs before end of play... but they wont have a lead of 320.. I think it may be closer to 350 if we dont get wickets. We need to get ganguly out very soon. Hes the only one who can take harris on. (left hander spinning into him) Double steps and hits easy sixes of harris. COuld hurt us badly. If weget a couple of wickets early on, it will slow them down and they may need to bat tomorrow. Derekc i dont think they will give sa a target of 320 with 100 overs to get it. Its too much risk for them.... maybe 350 with 100 overs....... the pitch is detiriorating but kumble is bowling extremely poorly. Hes usually very accurate and takes wickets but it seems hes not in form. If he doesnt bowl well i think sa will draw easily and maybe even win if a target of less than 300 is set.

cricinfo score is 95/3. Prehaps someone with a tv view can inform us?
