yah... yday at 7pm i was like the light is better here at 7pm than durbz 4pm!

hehe... hope india does well in batting today, will setup for a grand day 5! Love those tense moments on the last day when both sides can still win...
 
Hmmm. I'm already getting the feeling that this is a flat pitch. The openers look very comfortable. Just hope the big guys (Tendulkar, Dravid, Laxman) dont make a double hundred like they did in Australia in 2003 where they drew the series...
If they do were screwed.. i know its still very early days but the pitch looks a little flat.. its supposed to be day1 with some moisture on the pitch and NOTHING.
 
me gets the feeling this is gonna be one HUGE total..My last post was made when india had 20 runs on the board. Now they have 60 runs on the board without losing a wicket... and these aren't even the good batsmen in the team. Pitch is flat. What kind of a retard is the groundsman? giving a pitch like this.surely youd want a pitch that as a little bit of pace bounce and movement in the wicket. On this pitch, even sewhag who has no technical ability whatsoever can stand and waft and be successful.
Me predicts a score of 400-500. Any bets or predicted scores?

They're batting very slowly - the pitch is not doing too much but the batsmen aren't playing big shots either. I think 400 would be a so-so total (I reckon they'd aim for 450, declare just before lunch if they're not all out by tomorrow). I am sure our batsmen would like to bat on day's 2 and 3 and look to put on about 600 or so, then put the pressure on the Indians. Whether they can do it, though, remains to be seen.

Kudos to the groundsman - we've had two pitches that favoured the bowlers a little more so far in the series, now one for the batsmen is a good thing.
 
these flat pitches are boring for people to watch....The whole point of "test" cricket is the TEST part. It should test the batsmens ability and defense as well as attacking strokes. Maybe Durban and Joburg offered too much for the bowlers, but this pitch definately is a little to the other extreme.
I dunno about the rest of you but i prefer a low scoring game where the average score is 250 instead of an average score of 400. at least in that way your guaranteed a result instead of a draw... More entertaining to watch too..

well.. have you thought about it being able to TEST the bowler's ability? or even the crowd's ability to enjoy the game?
And if the pitch was bowler friendly, we wouldn't have FIVE day matches... it would end on day 3/4 like the first test...
 
suppose ur right... bowlers also needs to be tested. but there should be a balance. You dont want an old kingsmead wicket. remember those lol, when india came here in 1996 the wicket was as green as a fertilized lawn.The match finished in 2 and a half days i think. But you also dont want a pitch where the bowlers have to toil. Ie. i think australians have the best pitches in the world. They have movement on the first day, flattens out a bit 2 and 3rd days. And turns nicely with bounce on the last couple of days... So the best team wins and the toss isnt as important as it is in india or south africa....

ya you right about the tossing thing... more than 75% of the games i've seen are based on winning the toss... Seen it in many series odi and tests, and even first-class games... India lost all the ODI tosses....
 
ya finally... you know whats funny... India are the kind of team that can go from 181/1 to 250 all out.....
 
WTF is with Dravid? Will someone please mention to him that this is a Test and not an ODI?

I think india plan to bat for two days, make 500... they have players that can make beeeeg scorez...
