CRICKET: SA v India

From a cricketing POV nice to see the Indian batsmen getting some runs!

Would like to see Tendulkar making a nice score.

Yes - I am shouting for South Africa :)

If Tendulkar and co. get a nice score, The best case scenario for sa is a draw. If india makes more than 450, the game is safe for them.
I still hate that useless captain of ours. YYY does Pollock not get the new ball?.. FFS. Hes most effective with the new ball and what does that monkey (who cant catch a ball at slip) do? give it to steyn who bowls 80% of balls outside offstump and wastes it. Ive been asking y pollock doesnt open anymore since the start of the series and hopefully today they open with him with the relatively new ball.... else, its curtains for sa. india will make 550 declare with around 10 overs left in the day and make sa play for a draw. And then theres the kumble factor........

I think it depends on how comfy our batsmen will be at the crease.. maybe they can push a high, fast run rate.

rendan: seriously dude, be a little more positive. I heard from a journo friend of mine covering the cricket that Pollock doesn't want the new ball anymore. Anything can still happen. It's a cliche I know, but it's a funny old game cricket. We won the last test through good cricket and good captaincy.

Time will tell whether our batsmen can also do the same as the Indians.
Lets hope for some big scores from the locals. :)

@JontyB: Im being negative cos things are looking bleak. It was looking bleak when the score was 20 for no wicket and it was looking even more bleak when they were 60 for no wicket. I could see the sa players drop their heads. Im not a pessimist... im positive when things look positive. Im not saying we will lose this game, we really shouldn't. But winning will require a bit of a miracle cos of the pitch. And i think a drawn series against india is a disappointment for us.
K well if Pollock doesn't want the new ball he must tell the media. It really doesnt make any sense and every1 will blame smith. Every1 is surprised that he doesnt take the new ball, cricinfo, etc. and other news papers say the same thing. They (including me) are all blaming smith and maybe he doesn't deserve the blame if pollock doesnt want the new ball. Still doesnt make any sense. Hes our best bowler even with the old ball as every1 saw yesterday. Imagine what he can do with the new ball....

yay pollock is on :) , First ball went for 4 tho...

there u go ren..steyn got his wicket with a well bowled delivery...let's all give our support to SA and stop slamming Smith or the team. Give Smith praise for what he did in Durban. He chose his bowlers well on the 5th day and it showed by winning the match.

There's so much a team can do. We don't have any good spinners or bowlers who can bowl on a flat pitch. Evidence is that match in Sri Lanka...

From cricinfo:

Bhagyesh feels "Tendulkar badly needs a 100 and so does India. He has only scored 4 hundreds in the last 3 years including the double against Australia in the Sydney test exactly 3 years ago and one of those 100s was against minnows Bangladesh - hardly the record of a legendary batsmen especially when you compare that to Ponting's record over the same period."

Ganguly really took it really hard on the head there...a good and well directed delivery to the new batsmen...

Im just saying pollock should open thats all.... i never knew pollock didnt want the new ball.
Im not slamming the sa team. I dont think they've done much wrong this innings. I'm blaming the pitch they are playing on. thats all :)

And a nice delivery.. wow. starting on middle and leg, taking the off stump. impressive..

Happy Ganguly is having to work hard and they are troubling him with bouncers. immediately puts his footwork under pressure. Maybe hell nick one off giving his famous coach practice catches to the slips..lol...Hope they do the same to sewag when he comes...

lol quote from cricinfo after Ganguly took one to the head:

"Ganguly looks like a man who's just read one page from James Joyce's Ulysses (clueless)"

342/5

Sachin was out for 64. Caught Kallis bowled Harris
