Errr you the captain, You got one good batsmen at the crease with another batsmen whos average is 3.2.

They batting for 19 overs, 2.5 hours. They stretching the lead, and the 10th wicket partnership is nearing 50 runs!!!

You going to still dig your nose in the slips?? WTF?

He could have done something, field placing, a word with the bowlers, some tactic or the other, restrict the runs, put pressure on the batsmen, attack the tail ender, and the main one AT LEAST TRY TO KEEP ASIF ON STRIKE!!!!

He failed and showed his inexperience.

I say the Pakis didnt have their full side in the 1st test, but I guess thats just an excuse.

Yip they just played a little better than a bad performing Indian side.
India BTW beat the Windies at home, beautiful match!:)

I say what I want, its a forum and being the only non SA supporter, It just happens to be controversial!

Whats everyones views on SA selectors dropping Amla out of the 30 chosen for the WC?
 
Drop Amla - Good but seems to have no BMT
Drop AB - Form and restlessness and poor shot selection. Needs to mature
Drop Smith - Absolutely no form and a severe lack of confidence in him self

2 spinners, hmmm. I don't think we have any spinners that would worry the Pakki's.

As for replacements... I have no idea who could step up to the plate, far to much in the way of inexperienced players. The step up from domestic cricket to internationals is a big one, especially if you are playing against a team of Pakistans caliber.
 
If you want to drop people, the least you can do is mention some replacements.

If there is no replacements out there, how can you drop someone ??

We are ranked number 6 in the world, Pakistan number 3, for a reason. Sux that we lost, had our chances, although technically speaking you should not really have any chances if you get bowled out for 124 in the first innings.

I reckon all credit must go to Pakistan and Inzi. They won the game, because they played better cricket, not because Smith is a bad captain or because nobody likes him.
 
Jeeze, guys, thats all you want to do is change the bloody team all the time. SA will never find a good team if it keeps getting changed.

I think Amla is more a test player. However, he is still young..

There is nothing wrong with test team you have now..

where is boeta? I mean that guy is perfect for tests yet he was put in the ODI squad last yr? I'd drop AB to 3 or 4 between kallis and prince depending if boeta goes early. try Smith on top again :( or let hall do it with boeta :p

If the two can stay in long till the ball wears it might give the pakistani's some hard things to think about.

wtf is up with the pitch? looks like half of it was soaked in water?? and the large spots all over the outfield? There were complaints after the last match at Newlands, and now they produce this.. lol

Looks like Boeta will open with Smith. De villiers to bat at 6. Amla should be 4th and Kallis third.

Pak 27/2...We're doing ok
 
157/8 and looking really good. Ntini and Kallis with 3 wickets each so far :D :D I'm just hoping the pitch becomes a bit playable when we get in..
