Cricket world cup discussion thread

Fsck all of you who use the *choker* tag. Rather support another country if you want to be that fickle.

While I'm upset that we lost, I'm glad that it happened now and not later in the tournament.

It's not the ending of the fscking world!

Agreed, a good wake up call.

I guess the team psychologist has got some work to do tonight.

What I hated most about this is the moment England had the upper hand the SOuth African batsmen looked like deer in the headlights. They lost all positivity - they just withdrew until it became inevitable that the English would pick them off one by one. At least Steyn looked to play a few shots. You'd never see an Australian team bat like that.

Very, very disappointing.

Yep; to me the turning point was JP's dismissal. He was rattled from the first ball.

It's called an opinion and an emotion... You should try it sometime.

They are going perfect, top order put in some runs now we will easily get the target.

Not even bothering watching because the result is a certainty :D.

Lol. Oh the irony.
What a game, what a victory!

For me the turning point was losing 3 wickets without scoring a run hahahaha, good lord man there is only team capable of losing when you have 6 wickets in hand you need 48 runs.

Epic

It wasn't a choke, just a normal loss.

If the same game was played in a knockout situation it could be called a choke.

Well,at least it was exciting, thought it was gna be another easy win.Not that that makes up for it.

This is exactly their problem! This whole defensive shell that doesn't work. I never in the past labeled them as chokers, but now I can say for certain they are masters :D

Maybe skyhawk thinks the racist Selectors Board believe blacks can't spin?

Yea damn, how could they leave him out on a spinning track and replace him with a spinner? Must be the black's can't spin. Shocking i would call the racism board because honestly leaving him out for a spinner on a spinning track must be racist.

There was a host of peculiar dismissals. Amla playing on, faf run out, smiths gently gloving it to prior, van Wyk playing on... Just odd...

First big team in a World Cup where we're trying to shake off the tag of "choker"? Nope Nasser Hussain was right.

Not to mention it was our batting that failed us, not our bowling!

What also worries me is that it seems like we haven't learnt a thing from the India tour a few weeks ago. Every time we've been in this situation we've retreated into our shells and we've lost. If any of the middle order had gone in and started playing some positive shots we would have made it. The difference towards the end there were two fours. Two positive shots instead of the crushing negativity we saw tonight.

And what makes me angry is that when we lose we lose with a whimper.

This is a knock out, we can get knocked out before the knockout. A choke is a pressure situation when you have 6 batters to come need 50 odd runs and you lose.

We are doing very little to remove the tag alf :D.
