Cricket world cup discussion thread

Lets hope the Windies be consistent and give away some cheap wickets

but you won't know unless you ask...the captain tends to ask those that could see...

I think its all bull. If the technology is available and teams are fighting for the world cup then just two referals are not enough. Its quite possible to have 4/5/6 very close decisons in any given game, so a team can be unlucky and not have a referal when it will be needed most.

"not enough" - 2 > 0......:P

I agree with that statement. Each team should have 10.

Where do you draw the line then? Many of these Asian teams appeal for everything, and would refer everything if there were unlimited referrals. Can you imagine how long a match would take then?

The point of the referral system is to refer decisions that a team thinks is clearly out, but was given not out. It's not to refer every not out. If the referral is successful, then it isn't deducted from the two allowed, so I don't see what the problem is.

The problem is that technology is not being implemented in every game and not consistently applied. Teams that appeal excessively should have players banned and fined.

The umpire then becomes obsolete...

Pitch seems a belter......batting first.

wonder if it will become a dustbowl in the second innings :(

Benn could be troublesome.

West Indies have got the right idea and is what I been saying all along. Their team is packed with batsman. They understand that it doesn't matter who's bowling they going to get hammered on these decks so rather post a score of 300+ with all your batsman and defend the boundaries when it's your turn to bowl... We gone in with extra bowlers, we going to come short chasing a big score if they post a big score...

looks like they gonna post a good score, like i said previously our middle and lower order is weak (at times) and can be a problem in this match if our top 3 dont stick around for 20+ overs
