Cricket world cup discussion thread

It wasn't a choke, just a normal loss.

If the same game was played in a knockout situation it could be called a choke.

But if you have the Chokers tag and are way in the lead in the gane and you stuff up, same application.

Yup when the bookies are offering 1000/1 on an england win you know you choked big time.

It's choking alright, in the most stunning and epic fashion, whether we like it or not. Point is this doesn't mean we cannot win the CWC!!

****ing chokers

SA deserved to lose because they are discriminating against Tsotsobe after playing superbly in a series against India

For me the turning point was losing 3 wickets without scoring a run hahahaha, good lord man there is only team capable of losing when you have 6 wickets in hand you need 48 runs.

Epic

It's when i (and i suspect most of SA) called the choke

calm down, it's better to lose a match now then later in the knock-out stages

No but now the choke has set in so next time we come under pressure the choke alarms will go off even more than they are now. Well let's get out the group first because we could choke our way out the tournament early.

Actually i believe in the aussie way of world cup cricket, win every single game you play!!!!!!! I doubt they are sitting saying let's lose one so we don't lose one when it counts.

What kind of logic is that?

For me the turning point was when you said victory was a certainty!!!!! :o

All teams 'choke'...it was our turn.We are not invincible. Sad loss but still a proud supporter.

LOL well dude how could you possibly think with so many wickets and so few runs we would lose? although with SA nothing is certainty it seems hahah and i should have realized that :D

Why did Van Wyk play? Surely Botha should have played in his place? If ABs back is broken, he shudnt play at all.

Right gents, busy ATM, but I will be back later to reflect on what has just happened. So don't disappear just yet

 WTF are you talking about? They go out to win every match as does each and every team competing in the world cup (except maybe Pakistan). Defeats are never planned (except maybe Pakistans).

Are we in the dictionary yet? choke:breathe with great difficulty, as when experiencing a strong emotion; "She choked with emotion when she spoke about her deceased husband" 2: "the SA cricket team choked yet again"
