Crime Stats Released

Again just looking at the negative. What about the positive? Crime in lots of sectors went down. I would see that as some good news.

What positive?
Normal robberies down - but aggravated up?
So, now instead of stealing my TV, they now steal my TV and harm me?

Feeling positive already....

Well according to our esteemed minister, instead of complaining we should do more. So my dead minister, I would like a cut of your salary as I am then doing your job you fat ass gravy train rebate :D

Freud would be so proud!

I am just getting fed up with this whole mentality that we are to blame for everything. So by working hard to provide for your family, going home and just wanting to spend time with the wife, is now a crime. I have to pay a rediculous amount of tax every month, only to be told that, I am at fault and should battle crime, but am not really allowed to carry a gun.

But what can you expect from the criminals running this country. They should just step down and let people run the country that actually care for their fellow man (of all races), and actually want to see this country work, not line that pockets with money

that's why people with brains are leaving SA in droves man, and so am I. Now they want to "lure" back health care pros to SA, by doing what I wonder... Importing Tunisian doctors? What a fscking joke.

TIA my friend, TIA. Don't forget that.

This continent is heading one way, and we're going there with it, unless you can get off.

House robbery in some areas show shocking increase in numbers

Pretoria East - house robbery

Gasfontein : 98 to 222 cases ( a shocking 126 % increase from a already high base)
Brooklyn :126 to 211 cases (67 % increase )

JHB - house robbery
Sandton - 242 to 343 cases (41% increase)

check it here http://www.saps.gov.za/statistics/reports/crimestats/2007/gauteng.htm#Johannesburg

It is clear that conventional patrol is inadequate to combat house robbery upward trend.
SAPS & community need to find new ways to prevent house robbery.

Perhaps close some routes during evening & setup strategically located outpost to monitor / filter traffic .
New initiative required urgently .

Perspective,, battled to find the UK murder stats but here they are.

http://www.crimestatistics.org.uk/output/page40.asp
The population of England & Wales is 53,046,224

Less than 800

Ah but you forget one thing m8. They don't have the legacy of apartheid and poverty to blame. Its just not British.

Its much harder to get away with crimes in England such as the way our local vibrant friendly 2010 SA citizens butcher people in their beds, shoot husbands in their drive-ways, rape children, set old people on fire, drag people behind cars, cut of genitals, chop of limbs, GUT OUT PEOPLE'S INTESTINES and kill mothers, BABIES and kids for a cellphone. If you don't have a decent excuse like apartheid or unemployment its just not lekka.

SA makes me so sick to my stomach. I recently was emailed a picture of a victim (white chap) who had been dragged behind his car after a hijacking. I've never ever seen anything as horrendous. His injuries were so bad I wanted to cry and pray for him. In fact I pray to God he made it and will be able to have a normal life again, If there is such a thing as normal anymore. I've never ever even seen such brutality as this even on my 4 years on the border. Its worse that the worst horror movie you can imagine.

Maybe someone should post such local is lekka horror pictures up on these huge billboards that are pooping up everywhere along the N1 between Sandton and Midrand. SA needs a major wake up call. But no our elected representatives rather pump loads of cash into new fighter jets, trains and soccer stadiums. Jissis!!

I'm seriously thinking of getting my whole family out. This is no way to live or place to raise a family. In the meantime I live in fear behind razor wire, in a concreted prison bar windowed steel door bedroom with panic button and gun(s) under my pillow.

My daughter even has to walk around with a panic button around her neck. Huh WTF!

Why because just about every house has been robbed, everyone I known has either been hijacked, shot at or experianced some form of violent crime. Even now I'm wondering If I'll make it out the driveway this morning alive.

I'm not paranoid just realistic especially since at least three people in my area have been attacked in the last year. One guy was shot dead as he reversed out. They didn't take his car, nothing ...just a cellphone.

The worst was when murdered an old wwii SA army veteran who was close to me. Strangled him, put him in a bath tub and went to town on him with a panga. He was then strung up on the shower railing with with a weed eater cord and hung. They left his wallet cellphone everything behind. Drove his car a few blocks and abandoned it. Never caught.

I suppose I could become a reservist.. and get shot at too!

SA MAAK MY NAAAAAR!

And more doublespeak:

What a fscking joke.

Unfortunatley its a true statement.
However, it is bollocks in the situation to which it is applied.

(an example: just because the number of people over 110 years old has risen 200% in 10 years, it does not mean people are living longer - we went from 1 such person to 3 worldwide).

Comments like the one you qouted are half true - and the speaker then goes on to make further stupid claims. Kind of like a "strawman argument" with a small difference.
A common stance with ytour back to the wall - make half the statement unrefutable, and then when questioned on the other half, keep going back to the unrefutable bit.
(If, for example, we had one category of murder - say being harpooned in the head by a lebanese Jew - and that went from 1 case in 2005 to 0 in 2006 - we can say we had a 100% drop in that category!)

That's what I meant by doublespeak, it has a grain of truth that they can defend even though the basic premise is flawed.

bring on the army, i say. the police are clearly failing. if anything they're only working to keep crime levels stable, and not decrease them. what do the sandf do with their time anyways? fighting for peace in africa? what about SOUTH africa? at least they'll be getting some nice target practice :D
hell, i'll even join if they arm me with some uber machine gun to clean out crime. this is war now
