Critique my website

The Samson C01U Pro is a very good USB microphone. The Rode Podmic... eh, USB, man you could stick with the CO1U unless you go XLR, Podcastage did a review,

It is a good option, but tweaking the C01U a bit in the sound settings and repositioning how you speak into it may be the better decision at the time than to 'upgrade' to the Rode Podmic.

Most people who want to start out with XLR I tell them to get the Scarlett starter kit. It is superb value, come podcasting.

Well, that is very reassuring then. Will then rather spend the time to understand the audio aspect of software rather (post-production etc)

Design-wise, it looks clean and professional to my eye. Just clean up the edge detection and cropping around the faces. It looks a bit rough.

The Podmic is a good upgrade path, and since it is tuned to voice it 'doesn't' really need a better preamp than the one built in. It is only that you already have the Samson, but it is already darn good.

Just make sure it is set to 1 channel, as many USB devices detects as 2 channels when they are only mono capable. The rest is up to how you are positioned towards the mic and the gain.

Going with the Podmic does give you options should you expand on the podcast, Rode has nice toys. I have a 'similar' podcast speaking to online entrepreneurs, or any business which is online accessible. My podcast allows growth marketing mechanics which incorporates into the podcast, auto-publishing and all that.

Gooi a link, would love to see what the options are and different format ideas.

I like it.. the test is a bit much, yes. especially since the "images" leading to the text is also filled with mostly text.
And, when selecting a page from the menu above, that menu item does not highlight.

If you can find a way to lighten up the wall of text, it would be great!

I started about 2 months ago, currently I am in the content building phase. I also need to use this content as case studies to talk to people who have achieved success who isn't sommer lus to have a discussion. You know, everyone want's something in return.

COVID caught me at the worst possible time. I invested a lot into a business which was compelled to take a break. Everything is playing catch-up at the moment.

It is good to do both YouTube and to subscribe to a proper service like Podbean. I wanted to start my own service in SA, but I don't think that I can realise that expense as an investment at this time. Podbean, and many other services does allow superb 'silent' monetisation models.

All I have is the hardware, I go do my interviews at the people I want to interview, and the online service amongst other things.

Like I said explore this and leverage both mediums. Audio is picking up, people don't want to watch videos as much any more. People move, they want to listen while they see where they are going. Still, two target groups, one product.

Definitely agree with this.

My approach was, give the text for those who want to read, give the video to those who want to watch and give the audio to those who want to listen.

So, Youtube, Website, iTunes/Spotify

I am reading about podbean now -- currently the podcast is hosted via libsyn.com

I switched to bCast. 2 Reasons, I got it cheap, and the product is aimed at my needs and since it is new to market they engage pretty well with their on boarders. I like the roadmap.

Website seems fine and functional.

Only thing missing is some form of brand identity. There’s no logo and no theme as such that tells me where I am.

It all just feels very generic.

The drunkard has arrived after 8pm on a Friday night....
....sooooo Thor, you say we can give positive criticism?

Sux balls, all i see is words and many words, and random faces of chicks because we humans find trust more with women than men.

I don't even know what you are selling, it needs a quieter home page. This one looks like the About Us page ;)

To add to this, I hardly do any pre-production, everything post. I have a Solid State Logic SSL2+, the goodies which came along with it is an absolute pleasure to work with. I love doing post, I hate pre. The only reason I cannot do pre is that I have several... uhm issues. Some people will notice it in the way up I type, sometimes I correct especially when I am pissed. Nothing is ever right unless I have time, so I behave like a robot. There is never enough preparation time.

Anyway, since I got the preamp, I can't stop throwing money at VST plugins  Making MIDIs was an old hobby I had as a kid and now it is klapping me again. I queue sound engineer talks above my own work, every day.

That looks like a beast. I will investigate this (as I understand this is more than just plug n play you actually need a bit of knowledge to use this to get the money's worth.)
