Nah, I've lost interest in CF. I'm too muscle imbalanced and too poor right now to consider it.

I had stopped CF for what must have been a year or so I think? Expensive and I lost the drive.

Somehow though I've gone back this year. And although my fitness and endurance level is pretty much back to as far as a hippo can fly I'm enjoying it again :) FFS I'm so weak I've had to scale back to bar only! :mad:

I had a viva gym membership during the time off but averaged like once a month visit if that. Being back with a group and coaches who help out is much better for me and I've been in it for 2 weeks almost every day. Let's hope it stays that way :)
 
I wonder if CF gyms are going to take a knock this year due to the poor economic outlook for SA. I'm fully locked into the free gym offering from Vitality so laying down a few hundred bucks for CF is not something I would do any time soon.

I've not found anything that can compare in terms of variety or community(which is good motivation).
So it is worth paying for me.
That said I have had to scale down to 2-3 days a week because I have to cycle and run more to do dua- and triathlons.

I also have major mobility issues; can barely manage an overhead squat with anything more than the bar.

with 150 DU/ 250 skips after each second set
 
I know... and no still have to drive.... i guess she prefers "Newlands" LOL...

But i go with happy wife, happy life!
(said as i plant more money trees in the back yard!)

There also a few other options around Newlands that do the HIIT thing..
SWEAT 1000, RIPT @ SSISA & X-Body Fitness...I think they're all quite a bit less than R1k/month.

My shoulder is too f'd at the moment to do anything though, so plain old boring running for me, I'm afraid.

Our box is keeping their affiliation this year, so I reckon they not doing too bad :)

They can't use any references or branding relating to Crossfit i assume if not paying affiliation fees?
 
Did 16.1 today.

20 minutes of:
25-ft. overhead walking lunge
8 burpees
25-ft. overhead walking lunge
8 chest-to-bar pull-ups

Rx weight 43kg.

what did you score?
I got 82 RX.

Not great but lunges are one of my weakest events.
Thought it was probably one of the hardest workouts I have done so far. Wanted to pass out halfway through.
 
I just completed 5 rounds, so 130.
I was going to do the scaled version but the guys convinced me to do Rx

well done! Hoping for some power cleans, deadlifts or any bar work in the next event to try redeem myself.
 
Looked like a brutal opener for the open.
20mins is a long time.
Most of our guys seemed to gas in the last 5mins.

Although the scaled version seemed way too easy for some, getting in the scores of 200+

Even the scaled version I'd probably not finish or even get half the average score. :o

Most evenings the coach insists on us writing our scores on the board. I usually say F it and walk off without bothering. My scores/times are really so bad at the moment there's nothing worthy to measure :) DNF? Still on first set? :eek:

So anyone done 16.2?

I got to 5 squat cleans on round 4, before it got to heavy.

Can't do double unders.

But the Rx is hectic on this one.
 
Bloody muscle ups.
Going to try 16.3 Rx tomorrow.
And if it fails i suppose puke from scaled.
I recon that scaled is so easy being super fit will help you. I mean 20kg power snatches and jumping chest to bars?
