Cryptocurrency markets suffer massive drop

The pump groups are on standby, BTC is either going to be pumped next week or next month. See marginal dumps continue in pumping lesser coins. I expect the top 25 to gain back traction next month. I already know about one pump planning an execution, yah...

Sorry, what do you mean by "pump"? A group buying lots of Bitcoin and thereby pushing the price up?

It is better known as pump and dump groups, yes. Not necessarily BTC which is targeted. This is a concern it an unregulated market, ignoring the other positives. You can easily pick it up here,

https://coinmarketcap.com/gainers-losers/

but these groups are closed, not many people are allowed in.

May the prices drop for a couple months so graphics cards can actually be bought for something close to their intended MSRP.

Bloody miners.

Will it go back up?

I still don't understand these things.

Although really good prices right now, wait until this weekend if you're looking to buy, there should be an even bigger dip (pre segwit on 1 aug), but don't wait too long to get your cheap coins, there will be a massive buy at end of month

Entities like Amazon is still selling within the MSRP, or close to the recommendation, but they have no stock. It is the third-party sellers running amok and capitalising on the mining trend, obviously used sellers are in pursuit. Next month we may see steady increases again, and pending on traders’ confidence it may look in November as it peaked a while ago.

Some sellers buy GPUs like one would buy coins…

There is a good chance that the market may react the same as it did with LTC, LTC doubled in value.

Out of curiosity, lets say the price of bitcoin or ether spikes again and you do a conversion back to Rand on Luno, how quick is that transaction.

Chaincoin is the answer :p

Disclaimer: Yes, I hold a masternode.

So are these huge runs and turns botg up and down with bitcoin largely market manipulation?

And if not what is causing them because I would think bitcoin should be more stable than Fiat currencies seeing its not tied to any one country or economy?

I don’t read too much into the smoke signals. Once these cryptocurrencies, which is a real technology on respective blockchains, achieve market application you will see it being truer in value.

Many top coins are whaled, people or groups holding onto huge shares. Ripple is one, they won’t sell, but they will capitalise on it somewhere down the line whether it is by control or implementation. I wouldn’t be surprised that some banking institutions are whaling…

Yeah, I think we'll still have drops on btc up until around the 25th, then, 'massive' growth, back to around 3k and above, with sell off again from 2nd back down to around 2.5k, and then from mid august, it'll continue its steady growth again, but who knows /shrug

BTC was around $1000 in March 2017, flirting with $3000 in June 2017. What did people think will happen? That said, it will trade beyond $4000 reliably in 2-3 years I reckon.

How do you know that?

I follow one such group as an outsider. It is too hard to speculate on whether they will proceed or not, but they do walk the talk more so than not.

I have noticed that bitcointalk does not entertain pump and dump groups anymore, they have their own channels.
