Cryptocurrency Mining

Rig finally up and running on a loan PSU. Still to install one more GPU I loaned to a friend.

I did take this on as a bit of a diy project as well so here is my attempt at some woodwork

What are the dimensions on the wood?

Base is 430mm wide and 500mm deep. I kind of modeled it around a 4U chassis, but it's obviously a bit higher than that. It's not the best dimensions for GPU density, but I'm only planning to run 5 cards in it. I can write up all the lengths if you want to build it.

edit: Oh you want to know the actual wood 32x32mm?

So I had a look around my rigs with a FLIR camera, ambient temps are around 20°C
2 GPUs on one molex chain, no problem, cable at about 27°C
1 GPU on a SATA chain, no problem, cable at about 27°C. Although it should be noted that the connection at the PSU for one of these was warm (32°C)
PCIe power cables no problem (as to be expected)
Riser connection (molex) no problem, essentially same temperature as the cable
Riser connection (dodgy floppy connection) no problem surprisingly. Note this is on a 70% power GTX1070
Backside of any of the GPUs was around 55°C

I'm considering shutting down my PC. Mining for me is not economical for the last few days. R30 per day on an overclocked 1070 and stock 1050

Just got a new EVGA 1070, still sealed. Perhaps I should not open it and try to sell it off :(

Both cards are currently doing Equihash, when I get home I'm going to change the 1070 to DaggerHash and lock it on that and see how it goes.

edit: profitability over the last 3 days. One can clearly see there's a gradual decline:

B y the way I'm getting 29 - 30 MH/S with the 1070 and I think that's really good.

Profitability on my 1080 is around R35-40 (~0.0013 BTC) per day currently on only Equihash... I'm still inclined to stick with it as I want to pay off the card. :)

Let it mine ETH. I stopped nicehash to check out the other side. Claymore included it with the amd's. I thought it needed another seperate miner. And if you don't dual
Mine electricity usage goes down a bit.

That's what the rx klaps at the moment. It was just under the 1070 last night. But the price difference on those cards.

OK, will check later.

So every two or three hours the display driver crashes....screen goes black, and the "main" card fans spin to 100%. I suspect its a bug in this one. With previous versions, Win10 will recover successfully and continue...

EDIT : Got n MOERSE fright this morning at 3am when this happened!

What is the error message in the Event Viewer?

Damn. New PSU is bigger than my old one, can't fit my bottom intake fan. The case has 6 fans still tho.

Will removing one intake fan be bad for temps?

also i had to install my psu upside down lol. The LED fan is shining down wtf.
