Cryptocurrency Mining

That is possible. You're mining for different contracts, that is if you're mining on Nicehash. Are you?

Edit. What ccminer are you using that do those numbers?

Yes I'm using NH, and it's using ccminer_X11Gost. The contract thing makes sense, thanx.

Well I finally got everything I need to get rig going again. I had to replace Mobo, PSU, and the SSD. Busy installing and updating windows etc. I set page file to 16-40 gig for now will change it to 60 tomorrow when I get home. does the page file make a difference to mining hashrates.

OK so I am back from my trip and for most part the miner was running perfectly the last 2 weeks - only time it stopped was when our power went out and there was no one at home to turn it back on but that was luckily on the day I left to return home.

Just a couple of questions:

1. It only made roughly $100 in the past 2 weeks, is that because of how low BTC is at the moment or is there something else I should change?

2.Currently running stock on MSI Afterburner as I wasn't going to be at home to sort out issues if they arose. Should I maybe start changing the settings? If so, what should I change to?

3. Running NiceHash Miner Legacy v1.8.1.6, is that still the best one to be running?

4. Current Algos are: Nist5 (ccminer_alexis), NeoScrypt (ccminer), Lyra2REv2 (ccminer), Equihash (EWBF). Equihash seems to be the most used one when I look at stats online saying accepted speed 2437.08 Sol/s - is that good or can it be better?

5. Have set custom size page file to Initial: 40001 and Max: 60001 - should I leave it at that or just make both 60001?

Anything else I should do or change to get the most out of the system? It is running 6x GTX 1060 3GB.

Thanks.

1. yes you mentioned still running stock, OC will increase the earnings. Markets just crap atm.

2. yes 75% power dropped from 100%. Core +100. Memory +650

3. yes still the best

4. also add daggerhismito aka eth.

5. Thats fine.

There is an upgrade to nicehash legacy miner (v1.8.1.8) you have to redo all the benchmarks though

Is it worth it now? Does it increase profitability at all or more just UI upgrade? Don't mind updating if it is worth it.

Interesting to note that your benchmark earnings don't actually go to your wallet. With MultiPoolHub, you actually get the earnings that you would have made with your benchmarks. It's not much, but imagine everyone upgrading having to bench their systems again - it could add up to quite a lot of money

On a side note, with withdrawals from NiceHash, do I select "Withdraw to my BTC wallet" then put my BTC address from Luno in there? I see you can withdraw to coinbase for no fee - does coinbase work well or should I just stick to Luno?

I also have an Altcoin Trader account - can I not deposit there or is Luno still the better option?

It is possible to mine directly to any bitcoin wallet using nicehash - I'm manually transferring to LUNO

Honestly don't know. I just mine to NiceHash Wallet and then go to withdrawal and enter the BTC wallet I want to withdraw to. This will be my first withdrawal so which is why I am asking do I just send to Luno or can I send to AltCoin Trader or maybe open Coinbase account as there are no fees.

I wait till I have 0.01BTC (usually after a week or so mining) or more in my nicehash wallet then transfer it to Luno. I havent tried coinbase but I didnt want to add an extra layer - this just seemed simpler to me.

I will try mining directly to Luno next week to see what the fees are like

how long should it take for nice hash to bench mark graphics cards? ithas been 6.5 hours and it is only on card 3 looks like and shows 50%

sounds about right - took forever (about 10 hours I think) for my 5 RX580's but i did restart it once because i thought it got stuck

If you use the same cards in your rig benchmark one.

IIRC in my short foray with NH even if the cards are the same it wants to test all of them. They best way I found to shorten the tests was to deselect algorithms you know your card won't be good at or you don't care for before you start the test.

I have 1 X 1070 and 5 X 1060's. I started it before I went to sleep for night shift. looked like it got stuck. so I restarted it before I left for work. I had 2 of the 1060's in my personal PC while I waited for PSU etc. and they benched everything. This time they all seem to have gotten stuck on one of the benches. I can't remember which one. will check it out when I get home. I am going to start looking for something more profitable but at the moment nice hash seems to be ok, if it can just get past benching and will start mining.

On a different note. Can I use one of the short riser cards on the long Pci express slot? I am asking as I discovered I cannot put a graphics card in the slot and use the short pci slots next to it at the same time.

I used my Jaxx wallet to transfer from nicehash and it took just over a day to get the funds. There is a small fee for transfers. Itshould work the same way for LUNO or altcointrader. I am not sure if you can sell your bitcoin on Coinbase and get the money in rands. I think you would have to send it to a South African Exchange for a fee . I speak under correction about the coinbase part.
I am not sure which exchange is better between Luno or Altcoin
