Besides physically having the slots, does a motherboard require special BIOS to support 6 GPUs?

I know for example the Biostar TB250-BTC you need to enable miner mode in the bios for Windows to recognize the full 6 cards.

I found a non Biostar board with enough slots but I'm not sure if it's going to work.
Special bios

I will say this, bitcointalk is also the place where many are gambling on pushing scams and malware.

Hint: Never download an untested miner or wallet, or one without reputation.

You will also need to do you research on new coins and ICOs. These two are a gamble in any case, some are downright dodgy.
Jip, infested with malicious intentions.

Any one here order from Amazon and the order got canceled?

Ordered 2 x EVGA cards and looks like they are on the way, took a while for the payment to be confirmed but they are being shipped according to Amazon, looking at the prices again this morning it looks like there has been a huge increase :wtf:

lol... on a lighter note, my wife asks me what these consoles are always running on my PC. I explain everything to her as best I can (she's not a techie at all), and she's like "How many cards can we plug in and where can we get more??!!".

Total believer! lol!

Same with my wife. Ordered a 1080 last week (it's all I could get hold of) as an experiment. My wife immediately asked me why I'm not ordering more of them... Told her I'll buy more once the first one is paid off from mining profits.

Mine took some convincing, but after I booked us a short holiday from the profits she's very much on board :D

How much for shipping and duties if you don't mind me asking? Pardon if it's been asked before.

Well the cards were 362$ each. Orders were limited to 2 per customer. So the cards per order was 724$. I paid 897$ per order including shipping and duties. So duties and priority shipping per order was 173$. In rands it worked out to R11400ish per order in total.

I paid in USD using 2 different Amex cards. Amazon uses a much higher conversation rates when using rand. Amex uses by far the lowest conversation rate if you chose pay in usd.

Also keep in mind, that they will only charge your card once they allocate stock to your order. If you chose a card that will only be in stock the 24th June, be careful when choosing usd over zar, as zar could tank until they take your money.

Also make sure when ordering that your billing address matches your banks billing address else they could temporarily block your account and then you have to fax them a Statement of your card.

And not to delay your orders, make sure you add your ID number under your shipping address.

Edit. And keep on looking at prices. They change a lot. I found that they will usually price the cards at a lower rate once they get stock and once a few orders roll in the price increases. 1070 pricing has sky rocketed though compared to 1-2 weeks ago. I just checked and saw some evga ones for 429 eth shipping etc.

Happy hunting :)

Thanks a lot for those tips. I've always wondered if it is really financially viable to order from Amazon, but after looking around I think there are some good deals to be had if you play it smart.

Will go check it out :)

Also, on a slightly more relevant note, what would be a good AMD equivalent to a 1080/1080ti?
