Nicehash has crashed twice but I'm guessing that's due to a driver issue.

Set up everything today. Registered on Luno, went to more, receive Bitcoin, add address and generated one. I then put that in Nicehash as my ID. Is that correct? I assume, dollars will be paid into that account at the next payment date? I didnt create a NiceHash wallet

This all depends on what Litecoin is doing.

The address goes into NHM. You don't get paid in dollars. Everything is done in BTC. The payment dates are not a fixed period. It depends on how much you've contributed. Contribute a lot and you can get paid every hour. Check the site.

The API is for people who are buying hashpower. You are selling hashpower.

I've also had issues, but I've been messing around with drivers last night, and probably that. Been having dog slow hash rates, tried to fixed it. Looks better today.

Ether aside, do you think other algorithms will still chug along as it is now, like equihash, etc.?

For the average Joe like me in it to make a couple extra bucks beer money each month using NHM, I couldn't care less what I mine tbh.

As I understand the transaction fees are collected by miners ?

Transactions will always have to be added to the blockchain. New more efficient algorithms are developed by the week to make solving the shares easier and quicker and adding to the block.

Miners will never cease to exist while there is a blockchain.

You'll get more on Linux using a cuda miner. My cards average 440-450 using Linux or a ewb cuda miner. On nicehash it will be 420-430 per card.

Lbry had hashing power double in the last week, literally. Most people who have ordered their rigs have gotten them up and running now. There will be a glut as there is a massive amount of power available out there now. Since ETH has hit the crapper thanks to 2 pools playing games by mining empty blocks to play with transactions and delay things, some people have moved to other alt coins.
