Seems I am using 90 electricity units a day running the 18 amd rx cards. Seems a bit high to me. Will get me a watt a meter.
By my calculation, 208 watts per card?

If your card pulls 150 watt you are probably pulling 240 from the wall that whole power factor, heat conversion etc I'll need to dig up my electric bookBy my calculation, 208 watts per card?
I think I understand what you mean. As current increases through the circuit so the resistance in the wiring also increases making it less efficient the more you draw. Perhaps it would be better to run the 3 rigs, but each on a septate circuit to the main board. If your card pulls 150 watt you are probably pulling 240 from the wall that whole power factor, heat conversion etc I'll need to dig up my electric book
CPU fx 8300 + GPU gtx 1050 2MB mining enabled, CPU/motherboard not currently overclocked, 1050 overclocked. CPU enabled about 19:30 last night [7 of 8 cores], before that just 1050 mining.

How big do you need? Might have spare 1000watt. Can bring in some with my next import also.Still a shortage of power supplies in the Cape![]()

Doesn't matter. That's nicehash, it selects automaticallyWhat miner?
Galax 1050 OC. R1799 at wootware. Not sure how long the special is still on for. It's R900 of the normal price. Nice thing about them is it's a low power GPU.Which 1050 are you guys running?
Something to run 6 x 1070's, I'm willing to wait, anything over 1000W seems to be sold out for the past couple of weeks already, also do you have stock of those EVGA 1070's on your site?
I have no 1070s in stock, I am using the ones that I had in stock
You can run on a 1000watt, but will have to undervolt the cards. My USA supplier also has almost no stock of 1200 watt units, with eta of week or 2 for the next stock.
On a gold plus PSU? Never, that's 63% efficiency, should be 90%+.
What miner?
Nicehashminer invokes excavator for equihash algorithm for gtx 1050 (zcash mining) and xmr-cpustack for cryptonight algorythm for cpu mining (can be variety of coins). Of course payments are in bitcoin.
I do not really suggest going the 1050 route if the more popular AMD cards are obtainable or if you can afford a higher range gtx card.
Most high power PSUs are very inefficient at very low power draws. Not sure if they are 63% inefficient from 90+ at higher loads, but most are quite bad at very low power draw.
At 10% load they'll typically be 80% efficient, although it is not a requirement. Only titanium rated PSUs are required be 90% efficient at 10% load. But we're talking about a rig that should be running 600w minimum so we're certainly not anywhere near the bad parts of the scale
