Cryptocurrency Mining

Sooooo, what's everyone mining these days?

Was using NiceHash until they seemed to be underpaying. Changed to miningpoolhub with an auto exchange to BTC. It seemed to be based on the same principal as NH (if you enable auto exchange), although if you don't enable AE then you can end up with quite a nice diversified portfolio of altcoins

Gentlemen, which rig would be preferable for mining, especially Eth:

6x RX580 4GB

or

4x 1070G1 GAMING G1-GAMING 8GB

I'm leaning toward the 1070 because I think its more future proof if the DAG sizes increase, and it should use less electricity since its only 4 (newer) cards, but I am a total noob so any advice would be appreciated.

Bonus question: Is a 1000W PSU necessary or will 750W suffice?

Thank you.

Rx580 would be better if you find stock.

Dag file increase does not decrease your mining speed anymore. ETH will be POS before dag file reaches 4gb.

Cool, I'm still on duel ETH and SIA with Nanopool. But looking to mine some easy coins with good future potential.

This is exactly what I want to do as well. Want to mine coins as they get released and difficulty is low, and then keep them for their future potential. Been trying to check websites that offer info on upcoming coins but info is all over the place and some of those things look dodge as hell.

Anyone have good sources / tips?

Thanks.

Nice big markup lol

Can someone please explain to me why every forum/review I have read, they say you will either lose money or struggle to just break even with mining. Yet when I put the specs into a mining calculator it shows profit of +- $350

Can't predict future difficulty or price, the calculator works on current difficulty and price.

Maybe also that you need a little technical know how to get setup.

If Bitcoin keeps its current growth (Maybe a bit slower) would it be profitable?

I have complete faith bitcoin won't crash.
