Cryptocurrency Mining

I think I see what you mean. I was wondering about it on my way to work. I think I will use cable ties for the next rig. trying to get the small screws and nuts in to fasten the cards was a pain. your cables look fairly neat. I started trying to neaten mine up today and then gave up. my rig looks like Frankenstein. lol. will post a pic tomorrow. and will try neaten up cables again.

Did you make the frame yourself? If so did you measure the dimensions yourself or did you get plans?

Made it myself. Looked at a few online designs and then figured out my own build from there. Building it was part of the fun of the project. If I ever do a second build I may well order a frame.

Heads up, I see Claymore 11.0 is out with dual mine support on both blake2s and keccak algo's. I'm thinking ETH + XVG, but here are some other random coins using those algo's also, like NevaCoin (NEVA), Netko Coin (NETKO), Verge (XVG), TajCoin (TAJ) on blake2s and SmartCash (SMART), MaxCoin (MAX), Slothcoin (SLOTH), Cryptometh (METH) on keccak...

My rig has one X1070 and 5 X 1060's running. I am using the nice hash program for now (thinking this weekend)to test setup. I halve done some over clocking on cards looks like the 75% on the 1060's was too low. So upped it to 80% and did not get bsod again. What should I be using for mining if I want the most profitability I can get? At the moment it seems like I am getting around R120 a day.

Is it worth it now? Does it increase profitability at all or more just UI upgrade? Don't mind updating if it is worth it.

There is a new equihash miner that does about 8% better than EWBF, and some other forks of ccminer that are optimised for certain algos.

Ah ok. Has any one noticed a drop in mining values today? I started mining after benching and got around r125. Per day hour or 2 later it dropped to R110. Think I'll download the eqyihash miner and give it a go tomorrow or sunday. Should I try claymore? Which is most profitable ?

TL;DR version - Rand value is not a meaningful indicator of rig's performance. Hashrate is your go to value.

Rand value is not an indication of your rig performance. That figure will fluctuate throughout the day, and is determined by variables outside of your control - such as BTC value and how much buyers of your hashing power are bidding/paying nicehash at that time.

What is important to you however, is the hashrate of your rig on a given algo. That figure should remain consistent. Any significant deviation from your rig's median would suggest something funky and time for troubleshooting. Bear in mind hashrate will fluctuate slightly. For example, if your set max fan speed at X value, and let's say the ambient temperature should increase - your rig should slow down if it heats-up, this in order to remain within that fan speed's parameter you had set - these would be minor deviations.
