Cryptocurrency Mining

That is what I use. But you only have daily and monthly, and of course month to date. I will take a screen grab and show you

Yeah all I really care about is monthly usage to be honest. The rig is connected to directly to socket in the wall so would just replace this between the two and download app?

So on the app it will show you kWh used then which is basically units used and then convert to work out ZAR amount?

As a plus point you can switch it on and off with the app. You should also set it to be automatically o I the event of a power failure. The guys from geewizz are really help Gil if you have problems c
Setting it up, so they can help you or I can if needed

So I’m gonna give simple mining OS a go. What settings do I need to change in BIOS please? Have enabled miner mode, cpu vertilastion anything else?

Would something like this work to check usage from the miner on a daily / weekly / monthly basis?

Or is there something better / cheaper etc out there to use.

You can buy it from Communica and do the connections yourself if you can.

I will buy from Geewiz as well as I dont have to time nor skill to do the connections myself.

Sick and tired of seeing this guys posts. He comes into threads with the intention to troll and annoy. Possible to ignore users so you dont see their posts?

@biometrics dont you have something better to do with your time?
Take a chill pill dude, it was a joke.

If you don't know how to ignore a member then you must be new here. Do you need step by step instructions?

Yeah I thought it be around R1000 on electricity extra for the mining but this month it’s been 3x that amount so I’m sure it is not solely the mining machine.

Will look at getting a device to check the usage tho.
It's most probably your aircon that chows most of it. Aircons use on avg 2-5kwh. So keep an eye on that. Your 1060 rig shouldn't be using more than 550-650w an hour.

Also the best is to expell hot air from your miners when using an aircon. Your aircon will work alot harder if it needs to cool the hot air in whatever room the miners are in.

No need for aircon for 1x 1060 rig, they run nice and cool :)

I don't even use aircon for my rigs, just some usb powered fans on the vega rigs, as they really run hot.

Aircons weren’t on for the mining rig. It was extremely hot in Cape Town for a couple weeks so they were on to cool down the house.

Going to try simple mining os and watch power usage over course of couple days.

Anything I need to change in BIOS first? Updated BIOS so settings were reset - have enabled mining mode (well that’s enabled by default now on new update) but not sure what else to change?

Nothing else to change, should just work.

Ok will give it a try.

Some say to enable virtualization, others say enable csm and 4g encoding etc but then other tutorials say just mining mode so was a little unsure.

Gonna wait for OS to finish writing to USB and see if I can get it working.

hi all I started to mine bitcoin...who can guide me on how to mine other currencies....what software do you guys use

Hey guys what is a good temp to run 1060's and 1070's at?
i am not sure what the normal temps are supposed to be so in MSI afterburner i have the 1070 set at 75 C and the 1060's set at 65 C for
the temp limit. i have also put in custom fan speeds which takes the fans to 100% output once temperature reaches around 50C.

@ Vash1628

I have some gigabye g1 1060s, im pretty happy as long as they stay under 70. I prefer a bit cooler but a day like today i see they are at 67 at the moment and around 75% fan speed - Also have a desk fan blowing directly on them on days like this. This desk fan uses around 20w of power

1060s are running at 70% TDP

I wouldn't recommend running fans at 100%, fans are the parts most likely to fail and having them run at 100% all the time could accelerate the wear on them(which they will running at if you set them to hit 100% at 50c)

My Asus 1080Ti strix cards are beasts. The cooling is great on them and ive never seen them higher than 65c, no fan directly on them
