Crysis Review

is 16th nov still on for release of this game????

It's the 15th I believe, 14th if you preordered it from the official site, then you're allowed to download it early or something.
Take2 asked for my money today while they are still expecting it on the 19th

*edit* post 1000 ftw

I hope you're not hoping to play it on very high :p

But isn't gaming all about gameplay - it should be just as fun on low settings!

Oh wait, I rather sheepishly forgot that today's games are aimed at braindeads. *sniff sniff* :(

Just as fun, but not as pretty. Todays games aren't actually aimed at braindeads, if Crysis was just pretty and horrible to play it would get horrible scores. Pretty graphics help make games more immersive, same thing goes for excelent sound and music and a well written story...its all connected.

Pac man is still fun, but I wouldn't mind palying it at 1280x960...

W00T!!! :D

I phoned them this morning to find out if they had and the guy told me to phone back at 13:00. I'll fetch my copy after work today.

Just talked to Justin at the Brooklyn branch. The game is there and we can collect.

Will go and pick mine up shortly.:)

I miss Deus Ex's atmosphere...just thinking about it makes me all...deus exy :p

so the very high mod works on the full retail version too? :D

Anyone tried the game with an 8800GT yet? Interested to see how it manages, reviews so far using the demo look promising...

Rofl, not completely related, but this is what someone said about Crysis earlier this year:

"This really is incredible news if it's true. This proves that any current DX10 rig will run Crysis perfectly smooth with all graphical settings max at a resolution of atleast 1600x1200. Like mentioned above, the size of the HUD in the images below tells us that the game was running at a fairly high resolution which appears to have AA enabled and cranked pretty high, but time will tell if this report is true or false.

I'm predicting that a mid-range DX10 card (8600GT / X2600XT) will run Crysis in DX10, better than any current DX9 rig running Crysis in DX9.

Finally, we can all rest easy."

(about crysis being run at 2058*somethingridiculous at 60 FPS)

Wow, how wrong were they... You can barely run it at 1600X1200 on a new 8800GT, the 8600GT probably can't even start the game. :p

Hmmm...well I currently Run the game nicely on medium with my Radeon X1800 XT.
I rate I could still run it quite well with a few features on High, but my dam resolution of 1680x1050 kills me :o

Crysis seems very flexible. I think the resolution's a killer and obviously AA, which definitely stands for Arrogant Addition.
