Crystal Web DSL performance feedback thread Part 4...

What is causing the 7pm to 11pm drop in downstream performance (less than half line speed on my 4mb line) every evening for so many users here and what it being done to address this issue in particular?

I'm in the PE region as well, and the 7-11PM slowdowns are a thing for me. I got 1080p60 streaming going quite well on my line when watching the Sony E3 stream on Youtube at 3AM in the morning, but doing the same for Ubisoft at 9PM wasn't happening.

Unfortunately I have to agree with this. Gaming during peak times to EU servers are not enjoyable at all with spikes all over the place.

I can tell when I'm getting ping spikes because in GTA Online, my character lags when doing simple things, or the missions bug out because it's not syncing with the matchmaking server, or I get disconnected because the server isn't communicating with me properly.

I got de-prioritised today :(

@Crystal Web Management
If I see out this month with my account de-prioritised, will I be un-de-prioritised next month?

It's supposed to undo this after usage normalizes. Sad news is that mine was de-prioritized a week ago, at which point I stopped using the account. Spoke to support today and it's still the case.
I just cancelled today.

How do you know?

Once again communication is the problem.

It would be very easy to alter behaviour...if you actually knew what your usage was.

I guess I can't say that I know, but I'm running at 4mbps instead of 20.

The usage will obviously normalise if I'm running at 1/5 of my line speed. I guess I'll see what happens.
Which ISP are you going to next?

I'm back with Afrihost. Took an unshaped package and signed up for their Afrihost+, which doubles your data.

Cancelled my data account yesterday. Don't have time or energy for this ADSL like crap with my Fibre line. Got a 300GB account from Axxess for the same money and free data from midnight to 6AM.

Speed test says my line running at 20, but my line is actually 40. What is going on at CW.

Looks like it's time to jump Isp's again

Ok, I contacted CW and we did some tests. Line seems fine, but seems I was on the wrong profile. Called Telkom and they reset my port. Boom running at 36mb/s now. Seems to be sorted now.

I see their lines are R499. R100 cheaper then Telkom. You guys think it's worth moving for the extra R100.

I spoke to support last Friday there tell me the problem in the Cape is Not fixed nothing their can do the first support tells me I have to have a port reset only then he want to take it to next level only after I say is only on crystal web not on telkom and web Africa the support is useless

Going to run some 4K and 1080p stuff and see how the line handles it. Will check my router stats live and see how much it pushes out and check for any slowness.

Send me links I can check for you guys just for interest sake
