Crystal Web DSL performance feedback thread Part 4...

ja something is not lekker with CW lately......general packet loss in Dota 2........which i never saw before and played wow on it as well. Just over the past few weeks.

What i did notice now was my closest POP was in George............not CT anymore so not sure what changed. checked Telkom a few times. Hope CW manages to fix it.
 
This seems all to be related to the SeaCom line fault. Just my uneducated assumption.

Figure there will be continued speed reduction and ping issues depending on load until they have fixed it.

Repair vessel permits have been obtained which will allow for SEACOM’s repair vessel to arrive at the repair site on the 30th April and the tentative repair date is the 2nd May. Due to the nature of the activity, which largely depends on weather and other sea conditions, the repair window may vary.

Surely Seacom does not affect local traffic? Im playing on local BF4 servers and getting major packet loss on CW, besides this has started a few months ago already. CW blames Telkom and Telkom blames CW/IS. No solution as neither parties wants to investigate.

This should effect everyone if contention is high enough. Some nights I get increases latency...some nights I don't.

However I've not heard a peep back from the 5 - count em - 5 times my tickets have been escalated to 2nd line support.

Dropping the ball on the support follow up CW. Disappointed.

Im in CT and dont have the issue. I've had 160-170ms constant. I usually game around 8pm to 10pm.
Try testing the 1GB package and see of you're affected during peak.

Just upgraded to 250GB last night from 150GB as I was at 95% of cap.
 
Know this is the CW ADSL thread but curious from the users. Has the Seacom issue affected your connections?
In the JHB area and looking to maybe move to CW fibre but last couple pages have me a little worried.

@Sinbad since you are the only fibre user I know of on CW.
 
What does your speedtests looks like to EU/London servers? Mine looks pretty horrible atm.

EDIT: Looks like international overall, US servers are even worse.

Note that my upload is limited to 0.60 due to bandwidth control on my router, should be able to hit 0.7-0.8 I think, do it on purpose so someone uploading doesn't ruin everyone else's experience.
 
Man, had Tuesday and Wednesday back to like 280ms North America pings but it's back to 320ms again today ..... my poor gaming
 
Odd how some have poor pings, while others have great ping but terrible throughput.
 
Was able to stream the soccer last night better than ever on Acestream. Wish it could always be like this.
 
This might be the wrong place to ask but is portal live yet? Live chat says yes, told me to put in email address and click forget password. This gives an error
