Just tested a Nzb out of interest sake. 90KB/s average, max I could get 118KB/s, 4mbps line

Fly-FLT PC Games 22 Hrs 1.56 GB

No clue what it is, but it is 22 hours old, so a new enough NZB maybe?

Now in the 40KB/s - 50KB/s - 70KB/s range, all over the show.

Only the Nzb download is running now. Not complaining at all as everything I want to use works perfectly. :)

EDIT

19KB/s, 44KB/s, 27KB/s lol.

my statistic page showed a massive bid at exactly midnight(to the sec) id link its but its set to 20mb/s(my line speed) and the 250kb average to 100kb/s average is hard to see lol

midnight dip.PNGonly for those with 40/20 vision lol btw that bumb is when i started http in the middle lol(the after midnight bump)

Every time I check on this thread I become more reluctant to sign up
nah they'll fix it eventually(before launch) its still prelaunch we signed up expecting problems :P

We've tested all of today and tonight and we agree that certain speeds are unacceptable. It really breaks our hearts as we wanted everything to be top-notch for you guys. We really did. Our fault entirely.

If you still have issues, contact support and we'll move you over to a different backbone, at no cost to you, with a brand new account from mid-month. Please contact us ASAP as we run a 24 hour support desk and can have you on the new backbone within minutes.

We are so sorry about this, everyone. Really we are. We thought we had the best solution but it's taking far too long to implement and it's not right for us to project our problems over to you.

We will send out an email to everyone affected later tomorrow, but those with issues (especially in Gauteng) please contact us and we'll move you over to a new backbone immediately. We're sorry we couldn't fix the problem in time. We truly are, and we're moving everyone who has an issue to the new backbone because we sincerely care about you having a connection that works. Right now we accept that that the Crystal Web accounts are not working as advertised, so let our support team know and we'll move you over.

Our sincere apologies about this.

it might be the time of day(lol 3am) but suddenly even single threaded downloads are line speed :P

Look, I signed up knowing this as a pre-launch product and hiccups were to be expected so on that basis I will persevere and wait for the fix to be fully implemented. Over the course of Thursday what I did not like seeing was talk on shaping every protocol because of a few idiots who feel they need to download something urgently by masking their traffic. Please don't go down that route otherwise all your hard work will be undone. It's easy for us users complain, but to provide a solution is something else entirely. The only solution I can think of is a new policy whereby if you suspect abuse is happening via traffic masking to go in and take a look. For me it would be better to punish those few than your whole user base...

Absolutely agreed, and we honestly have taken this feedback on board and have decided to look at better ways to manage this. :)

Yes, things are slowly trickling through to the various affected areas but we're still not happy with the performance of some protocols, so we've decided to give customers the choice to move over to another backbone provider temporarily while we fix things. Please do remember that this is not a fault of our backbone provider and rather our problem specific to Crystal Web. This is an incredibly complex issue that is slowly but surely coming right on our side, but we don't believe in testing things live in customers' environments and have taken the decision to give those customers affected an alternate choice. It is solely at your discretion to take us up on this offer, as per emails that are currently going out to those affected.

Please read the mail carefully, as it contains very important information about the use of these accounts. It is not intended as a supplementary account to be used in conjunction with your Crystal Web account.
