It's kind of obvious who Shaun is, as we get emails from him with his personal name, and anyone following the thread would know that him and Paul run the show :)

Not recommended, the tx on the access point might not be good enough, I would recommend 2 of the nanos.

Okay. So, to make sure I'm understanding correctly: Two nano's in bridge mode with a WAP connected via ethernet cable at the "receiving" end?

I'll get there eventually. :D

Yeah, that's it. The problem with most consumer AP's is that they cannot transmit very far.....but might be able to receive that distance without a problem.
Although the amount of transmitted data is a fraction of the it is none the less an extremely important of the process.That's why if you want to kill someone's internet connection, you are better off flooding the uplink rather than the downlink

Yep, That's correct. I misunderstood your original question and presumed the Zyxel WAP was simply a rebranded nano.

Also note to get a open Frequency. If you do the connection via a congested frequency then you're stuffed. Although the setup with the one antenna and the WAP might work if distance is short enough, wont hurt to test it out. :) Also note that some WAP's does not have the repeater functionality in it. Also if you're going to buy two units, rather go for the 5Ghz range instead. My guess is that 2.4Ghz will be saturated almost everywhere, I only know of Wisps and Wug's using 5Ghz currently, most home's still on the 2.4Ghz range.

Nah, Crystal Web is the "official" account. DJ... is Shaun's personal account.
 
Downloading a http file from the us at between 20 and 30kb/s anyone else getting this? Or should i contact support?
 
Anyone here use a laptop to play and download steam games? When I decide to leave it on over night to download a Steam Game and I wake up the next morning only to find it downloaded about 1GB and switched itself off. And I run this laptop the whole day and whole night at home without any issues. It only does this when I want to download over night. (Looks at CW with shifty eyes and wonders :p )

Checked those, one of those problems I can't solve lol. I know what is wrong with a desktop just by listening to the beeps, but yeah this one baffles me. Only does this with steam games. If I leave it over night to download a NZB for instance there are no issues.

In honour of DJ..., I say we also implement an ellipsis rating system. The more you have in your post, the more serious in nature your query will be seen?

Edit: Sadly only after posting the jk, do I realise I have an actual question.................................
CW, pending the 'fact finding' happening with your unshaped test, should anything change from next month, what would happen if a MMO uses the same ports/connections as P2P? Will prioritisation on IP trump the port being used?
