Although the setup with the one antenna and the WAP might work if distance is short enough, wont hurt to test it out. :) Also note that some WAP's does not have the repeater functionality in it. My guess is that 2.4Ghz will be saturated almost everywhere, I only know of Wisps and Wug's using 5Ghz currently, most home's still on the 2.4Ghz range.

Thank you all very much for helping me out. All great advice and I'm sorted now. The uplink strength comment and recommendation for 5GHz have helped me understand what I'm actually aiming for. I might even manage to get this right. :D
 
On a more serious note:

I really dislike having to download the same thing twice due to a failure of some sorts, it's just wasteful!

HTTP downloads in Firefox seem to drag on a bit, just tried downloading this last night and now again this morning: http://forum.xda-developers.com/devdb/project/dl/?id=7725&task=get

It's only 500MB or so, but using Firefox gets me speeds of like 50-60KB/s. Using a download manager (jDownloader seems to not work at all, strangely enough) I am able to attain full line speed from the same link (224KB/s). The problem is, it failed at 89% overnight :S

So my question really is: Is it ok to use a download manager to multithread http downloads? I vaguely remember something a few thousand posts back that mentioned single thread downloads not being optimal on CW?

The downloaded completed using FDM.
Averaged 426kB/s on a 4Mbps line, till it got to 97%.
Speed dropped to 70 - 120kB/s from 97% till completed, lowering average speed to 398kB/s for completion.

Samsung Galaxy S3 flash? On a side note, got myself the 5.5" Hisense infinity pure 1 at Game for R2500, bargain for a quad core HD phone and battery life is AWESOME. BUT.... When I started to Google the phone I could only get SA links, so no love for me for root and custom ROM. :( Argh I just TK'd this again. :D

Yeah I was getting bored of the previous ROM that was bugging out on me slightly after I tinkered with it. New one looks decent though, so will run with that for a bit :)

We certainly do. It really helps though if you indicate privately who you are though, otherwise we're flying blind here and I can't really follow-up with the agents for you properly.

Gaming did appear there for me.... just needed to scroll to the right under the given options.
 
Done, i will gladly accept my free trial account for providing some extra input aswell :D.

Am not a fan of this new 12pm-6am happy hour that WA i think started with their 50TB giveaway , don't get me wrong in that i love free data but we can see between the binaries :p. I trust someday through CW or someone else, all this shaping nonsense falls away and capacity is increased 10 fold to just do what we want.
