I find most things on Youtube now.
I was just watching the FIH hockey World Cup direct from the FIH site on youtube.

Not sure if there's a market for that kind of thing - if there is we'll look into it but it's going to be a niche market, and only serve to complicate our offering. We have something in the pipeline though that will please a great deal of people...

Sorry I was replying to getafix saying that if he limits his p2p traffic it shouldn't effect him too much?
or am I mistaken?

Correct. The current shaping however is usage based until we revert to the p2p shaping during the day only.

Im sure you've answered this before, but could you please provide a time frame for "during the day"?

If I could add my two cents on the matter.....

09:00-21:00 on weekdays and 09:00-18:00 on weekends.

Please don't do what Telkom does and only make it work from midnight to 6AM.

Also, when you shape....do just that. Shape. Don't make the service totally unusable. And for the record, 10 kilobytes per second on a 2MB line is classified as unusable. Limit the speed to a reasonable limit. even 25% of line speed would be acceptable in my opinion.

I say don't shape if you don't have. If you have enough capacity then don't shape. But whatever you do be open about it. May be show this on the portal.

Please don't BS us that it's your line/exchange/modem.

CrystalWeb, can you just clarify this for me. You have probably mentioned it somewhere on this thread before but must have missed it.

When your p2p shaping goes through at the beginning of July, is the p2p shaping only in effect during business hours and unshaped after hours or is p2p shaped throughout the day?
 
Speed tests on CW line not IS. 10MB Line.

I was running Filmon streaming 1/2 hour ago @ 720p next to no buffering, all P2P is usually scheduled for midnight to 6:00am.
Yesterday, my Linux upgrade... Yes genuine, XBMCBuntu was a bit slow.
Everybody happy.

P2P daytime shaping only will be introduced once it has been redesigned properly and reconfigured. We had to change it for various reasons. So at launch it will be usage and time based, depending on your line speed. But again, only p2p.
 
Are IS accounts being shaped? I am trying to download a network driver from Intel and my speed is staying at 100kb/s not the full line speed for a 4mb line. I also am trying to download ROM updates for my S4 and I am getting even worse speeds, +- 30-60kb/s depending on the mirror...

All IS accounts are subject to IS's shaping policy, and yes they will be shaped accordingly. We did try to make this abundantly clear in our formal communication with customers announcing the offer.

The temporary IS account is really crawling. I try and watch Netflix in the evenings and the past few nights Netflix buffers every 1-2 minutes. I have used a total of 6GB since the temporary account was created, according to the ADSL stats emails. Actually less than 6 if you use the correct formula :)

Edit: My wifi network was the problem. Working much better with ethernet cable.

I agree trying to stream supersport and its buffering every 10 seconds with artifacts everywhere
