Yeah, sorry to see that, ambroseg. :(

Exchange congestion.

IIRC your line is with us? If so, drop a mail to support. We do daily calls to Telkom, so we'll just add you to that list, and every day we'll report it to them for you until they fix it or give us proper feedback. :D
Line isn't with you yet. You advised me to test the account first before moving over my line. If possible send me whatever forms need completing so we can move the line please.

Drop a mail to support from the registered email with the request and we'll process it for you tomorrow.

That's it. I'm moving. Email sent.

NZB downloads have now trickled to the 1 kilobyte per second range.

Here is the results of the two Zertop tools

Zertop's "Is it my Line" Results
Basic Report:
Your average ping was 29ms
Your maximum ping was 110ms

Looking at your average ping, your line seems to be running perfectly :-)
Looking at your maximum ping, however, it seems as though there could be a serious intermittent fault on the line. This could be a cause of an issue. Please post the results (at the end of the program) into the forum for advice.

Its now 22:47 and speeds have picked up to 50-100 kilobytes per second. Still nowhere near line speed.

ambroseg, send those details to support for us. You have some terrible exchange congestion there. Nothing we can do other than harass Telkom on your behalf, but we'll need the ticket from you to do so. Always treat the forum as second level support. :D

On the international issues, here's where we stand. Work overseas has been completed. Courier will be dispatched in the next two days for all local equipment for the final link. The only possible delay now is customs. If anyone has customs contacts now is the time to call in a favour.

:p

Connected my CW account again last night, can say I was quite impressed. Imagine the performance once the issue is fixed. Oh FYI I am hooked on the Defiance game via steam, on AH it sucks so bad I have to connect my mtn uncapped, not sure how it is on CW. If it is just as bad on CW is there something you can do?

So my slower international speeds are not line related?

Quick question - when can I expect an invoice and/or payment details, and my account details? :)

Hey CW,

1) I was wondering how long it takes you guys to process account requests? I sent a request for a 10 meg account through last night. (No rush, just wondering).

2) Maybe someone here can help me out with this: I am currently on a 6 meg profile, which in theory has a maximum of 8 meg (my ADSL stats look good enough when I checked them last night). But for some reason when I first got 8 meg the line was a bit unstable, so they put me on 6 meg. Now I have a new router and was thinking that my old router may have been the reason why the line was unstable, so I call Telkom (yay for being on hold for about an hour) and ask them to change the profile to 8 meg so I can test to see if it's stable. I spoke to two different call center people, and the first one said to me that she couldn't change it to 8 meg. The second guy said he could but when he changed it, it was still set to 6 meg. He said he's tried to change it but wasn't sure what the issue was.

So before I waste my time calling Telkom again, I was wondering if the fact that my exchange is full be the reason they can't bump me up to 8? Ideally I would like to get at least 8 meg out of my 10 meg account.

Your billing stuff will be sorted today - no need to change usernames and passwords though.

The last few days it's been slow as we've transitioned over to new systems. But if you send it now I'll have it sorted for you in a matter of minutes, along with everyone else. I would suggest 1 July activation though to ensure that you get to experience Crystal Web internet without the international hiccups.

Always ask them to do a port reset after a speed upgrade for it to reflect properly.

We can always take a look at it, but remember that prioritising individual things for individual clients is not feasible, so we have to make these changes global on the shaper itself if it's being shaped - so these global changes require business cases for changes rather than individual user cases. I hope you can understand.

But that's based on the assumption that it's not going to work properly. ;)

errrrrmmmmm?
I don't have a username/password? (just a trial account?)

That account is yours. It's no longer a trial account. It has been converted to your account under your name.
