I wish I could say yes right now, but I can't just yet. it all depends on a million factors we're testing at the moment. Apologies that I can't say for sure. Bear in mind that this is effectively a brand new network that's being configured, and is being tested by multiple partners and businesses right now to get it working in tip-top shape.
 
Just got my CW account activated. Looking good at the moment. getting 30 ping and 3.07 mb local download speed at the moment, on 4mb, a bit faster then my older ISP's during the same time. Will post a bit later tonight when I get a chance to test some games and other funny stuff.
 
4Mbps, EC

Line preforming dismal atm
915kbps atm for international speedtest.
Local is on par, except for the ping, which is slightly on the high side.

We are going to have to send our support staff for some additional training and there are some major defects in the schooling system

one of our employees couldn't identify Nirvana as the band when Smells Like Teen Spirit was playing

/holding thumbs though that DJ doesn't break into a Courtney Love rant (of whatever shape or form)

Righty O....

My interwebs is a bit slow... will do a reboot of the router shortly and see if that makes a difference to this whole thing before starting to dig too much (router hasn't been rebooted in over a month)

Something is up with your connection. Not related to the account though. Investigating now for you. Let's hope Telkom haven't messed with the 20Mb upgrade - if so we'll take names though.

That requires some severe re-education...

I would also guess that they aren't fully versed in the Counting Crows either which would be disappointing.

Strange. But the line has been upgraded for almost a month now.

Your telkom circuit's exchange isn't reporting properly at the moment which is what lead me to think that. We're investigating now - one of our agents is already on the line with the engineers about this now.
 
Quick question: What nntp speeds should I expect at 17:30-ish?

CW nntp is fluffing at around 70KB/s and just dropped to around 12 to 17KB/s.

Am I too early to start downloading or might there be something wrong?

We really do urge customers to schedule their large downloads for after midnight still until the issues are completely fixed, and even thereafter if you feel like being kind to us. :D

The upgrade process has completed, but there's still testing, tweaking, and further config happening over the next few days.
 
Day one report on my 10Mbps account.

Browsing is ok-ish(local is beter than int)
NNTP hovering at 60-100KB/s
Haven't tested torrents yet.
Videos on sites like escapist, gametrailers buffer endlessly :(
Youtube seems beter, but 720p streaming is meh
Playing games online is rubber banding on roids, tried POE PC(lag of 350ms with spikes of over 1000ms), Fifa14 PS3, GTAV PS3, Wot PC(400+ms).

And to be fair i tried my afrihost account for a bit and all was well. Just saying something is up at crystal, fingers crossed it gets better.

Get hold of support. YouTube should never have an issue. It's never shaped, at all. Latency, yeah we're working on that in-game. International is coming right now as well and is already better - massive fix went in last night for that and continues to be upgraded.

NNTP is shaped during the day and we had issues with this earlier today which were resolved as well.

But the streaming stuff concerns me. No streaming is ever shaped at all, and nothing on our end has changed in that respect.
