Update: packet loss is near non-existent today; however, running some Windows Update downloads and a Smite update, only getting between 30-80KB/s - it all seems to drop off now and then every few seconds. Latencies are looking splendid though.

Try buying and renovating a house.. there is no budget for devices just yet.

I tried that, after 10 years I'm still renovating. (Looks at his gadgets and ADSL bill) :p But all in all just 2 bathrooms left and I will be happy. :D But to take care of my 2 ladies (one a daughter) and to maintain 2 cars eats up the funds hehe.

EDIT:

Anyone in or near Pretoria felt that tremor just now? Around 12:24

In what region of the country are you situated? In the Free State it's still dropping packets like it's going out of fashion.

This is the sort of feedback we really need to get on our support desk so that we can look into it. Please can you send us any stats you can so that we can look into it and report it if need be.

I'm in Gauteng.

@Crystal Web,
Just wanted to ask quickly, are there any known issues with international download speeds presently? If not should I send some testing information to the support desk?

Was that earth shaking thing your new bandwidth coming online?! :D

Yes. They are shaped to the ground atm during work hours.....

CW tell whoever is doing the upgrade and config that a little thing like the shaking of the earth shouldn't keep them from doing their jobs..... :)

I guess I'm looking for a new ISP once again.

last night my internet simply died. apparently authentication issues yet I never restart my router..

now its crawling at around 50kbps on a 4mb line where it used to run at line speed...

I'm NOT happy! :( :( :(

Why?

We're in the final throws of this upgrade, performance is improving, and things are looking up. First priority was stabilising latencies - this has been pretty much sorted out - now we're improving overall performance as well.

I cannot urge this enough - please contact support about this sort of thing. We're in the throws of an upgrade; it's not complete; the more data we have to work with the better; it may be something completely unrelated; pings are more stable now, overall download performance is also going to get better.

The final pieces of the puzzle fall into place tomorrow, and things will be far better.

The only remaining issue is http download speeds now.

Ok so apparently paul tells me i managed to break the internet....do i get a medal for first person in CW to actually break the internet? :P
(might want to check with support mika was getting 50kb/s and paul sorted me, now getting 800kbps)
