i am on the shaped at the moment downloads running between 25 and 50kB/s whole day, struggled to pull a 3.5 gig of a download last night that was left of my download only managed a 2gig till morning on my 4 meg.If streaming is your thing than account is perfect but just too many inconsistency since switching over since the 100 gig 2 days ago.Support keeps pointing me to telkom and i am at wits end with telkom.Holding for 20 min for telkom to reply not fun anymore too much hassle for adsl that never runs smoothly.

You're pulling over half a terabyte per month on your account. If you want your account to work with browsing, streaming, and gaming day and night, then you'll have to compromise on other things for us to keep the costs down for you. The shaping helps to move your downloads into times when the network is not as busy. If you want to be unshaped on all protocols all day, all night, every day, then you want an account that doesn't shape traffic. That costs more.

So we are not getting full speed between 00:00 - 07:00 on downloads, once shaped?

You should. As close to line speed as humanly possible. P2P and NNTP are prioritised at that time - http downloads too.

That was last month with the unshaped account and of course i was the only one i am just stating the performance off my account after 100 gig .I think i need a account which is at least unshaped on weekends or a 2mb unshaped account.Fusion not for me I dont stream at all.20kB/s at the moment.

Anyone else having constant buffering with Netflix tonight

Meh, my Adsl is syncing at 8mbps, which i just found out now, it is locked in at 4mbps with Afrihost, even confirmed it on clientzone. So either way I am going to get billed for a 10mbps data account or double billed when moving the line from Afrihost (which I paid for already) to Telkom (Another Bill) and lastly CW (If they take possession of the line before month's end). Why must the internet life be so deurmekaar? LOL.

and you'll be in good company

Heh sorry, nothing against you guys obviously, it's all Afrihost. But this with the book keepers stuffing up my salary this month and me getting R800 less, not a nice month for me at all lol.

so what is the price on the unshaped 10mbps package?
I'm assuming that this would be unshaped 24/7 regardless of how much a person downloads, right?

I emailed the host of the CS:GO servers with a tonne of data related to when the servers go kaput, what goes kaput and some other stuff. Hoping this gets fixed, or I'll have to get a capped mweb account to route game traffic over, which is ridiculous.

the signup form is here: http://crystalweb.co.za/signup.html

although the uncapped unshaped is a limited trial for existing customers but feel free to come onto live chat at the moment

Thanks but no thanks...I wanted the uncapped unshaped account, not a fusion account with a threshold...My understanding is that the unshaped account is for only existing customers, I will stay with my current ISP...thanks for taking the time to reply :)

When we go onto the shaped package, does our IP change? Saw this morning when my daughter wanted to get her usual dose of total drama in that Netflix complained and I had to update Unotelly.

Just to be sure, the Fusion accounts are 200gb of capped data and then will revert into standard uncapped accounts yes?

How are the pings on CW's network to EU and US?

No, we only begin to shape after a certain threshold, is all, and that threshold depends on the speed package you select. There are essentially two states that your account can be in - shaped and unshaped, and we can be somewhat flexible with this as the product evolves.

IP address allocation is random and automated. It may or may not change IPs when the shaping is applied.

Once you've moved to the new and final realms it probably won't result in an IP change.
