IP address allocation is random and automated. It may or may not change IPs when the shaping is applied.

Once you've moved to the new and final realms it probably won't result in an IP change.

Yeah I see now that the IP is still the same. It was just odd that Unotelly bombed out on the same IP and I had to refresh it via the Android app lol.

Another awesome weekend of Internet bliss
Thank you CW/DJ/Paul :D

Same. Although I realized yesterday thanks to CW that my line is Syncing at 8mbps, which Afrihost told me they put it on 4mbps, even on their Cpanel it is on 4mbps lol.

I'm having issues with Telkom and migrating my line. Apparently my line can't be migrated till my 30 day cancellation is over. Telkom considers Telkom Internet as being my line owner (much the same as if I had Afrihost managing my line) and because of this my line cannot be migrated till my Ti ISP cancellation goes through :mad:I have already paid CW for the line and data too. So I must wait till the 10th October before my line can be migrated. This whole exercise cost me 3 calls to 10210, about 20 transfers to different people and/or departments and about 1.5hrs of my life that I will never see again.

Paying CW for the line wont be too much of an issue since I'm sure accounts can just pass a credit on my CW account for the line.

Lol yeah, I want to spare myself the pain your going through. Would love nothing more than to move my line to CW, but I remember what a mission it was to get everything sorted again when I moved my ADSL from wazzup ISP to Afrihost.

It's such a schlep to move lines, I did move my line from Telkom to Axxess and then back again to Telkom and swore I'd never to do it again. I got disconnected for 3 days and double billed from both Telkom and Axxess. But Cw seems to have a good handle on line issues and exchange monitoring so I thought I'd take the knock and move it to them. So right now I'm still paying Telkom for my uncapped and CW but it's well worth it. Changing over to a proper ISP with great support and informative and timeous feedback on network issues - these are things I never had before

I'll be paying Octobers account with a smile :D

Moving lines was trivial for me. Gave afrihost the months notice and asked cw to take it over first of the next month.

If I get one of CW's packages and for some reason don't like it, can I cancel immediately or do I need to put in a months notice?

I'm so relieved and happy that I didn't have any reason to visit this thread in ages - and still don't :)

inform us before the 19th

however you are unlikely to find a reason not to like the product :)

Yeah the product is so good that it makes you nervous. You know that feeling when everything runs smooth and you're just waiting for something to go wrong, having Telkom on your mind the whole time lol. So the product makes me nervous every day. :p

Does anyone have any need for Registered ECC DDR3 memory - I purchased it in error (didn't realise you get unregistered ECC mem)

I came for the feedback and stayed for the threadkilling :D

No but seriously, the product is performing excellently. I am very happy on uncapped unshaped.

One "complaint". The 19th is almost here again, and no credit card facilities yet! /crackwhip

s/o to support for their usual magic trickery, line is now syncing :D
