I all,

Anyone use CrystalWeb Uncapped? How is the shaping, the stability of the network, etc? Is it worth moving from WebAfrica Capped to CrystalWeb Uncapped?

Thanks.

The people that use them seem to like them a lot.

I am with them on the 20mbps uncapped account. Excellent so far and their support is far superior to any of the other isps I have tried.

i got 4mb uncapped also...best customer service I've ever recieved if they carry on with the good service they going to go a long way

Read the reports on their formal feedback thread. Many people are extremely unhappy and leaving. I left within 2 weeks, did not even use up my month for which I paid - it just was not possible to continue with them. Service ****ty, attitude ****ty, speeds ****ty. Moved from Afrihost when they started hitting the wall and CW was much worse.

Well, to be fair, your dealings with them, for whatever the reason, didn't strike me as the norm, and I suspect the issues were not one-sided.

One thing I can say for sure is in every dealing I've had with CW, attitude has not even remotely been a problem.

They've got a customer satisfaction poll up on one of their threads, close to 30% are unhappy. Not great stats for a start up ISP IMHO.

I've been using them for around 6 weeks now, give or take, and voted 'for' but in the last week or so I would've been voting 'against'.

Hasn't seen anything above 60% of max line speed in almost a week. That's on a 10mb capped account btw. GREAT price per gb though!!

Of course all other isps are running perfectly

Funnily enough the isp OP is looking to move from seems to be stable. IS still the best quality bandwidth available locally?

I'm having k@k with afrihost and crystal web capped accounts tonight but my 1gb WA free account is running at full line speed.

Admittedly, we've had some problems this month, which will hopefully all be resolved by the end of this week, which from where I stand is a pretty decent turnaround time for the type of problem that is being addressed. But I do understand some people's frustration though when something doesn't work 100% - I've been there too, which is why getting it fixed asap is my primary goal right now.

So would you say that moving from WebAfrica is a bad choice? (Extremely happy with them, the only reason I'm looking to move is because of CW's decent prices and I'm always eager to try new things.) Not eager to waste my money though. Who does CrystalWeb use as their upstream provider?

Cybersmart

When it comes to ISPs, the rule of thumb is, "If it ain't broke don't fix it".

I've been through about 6 ISPs this year. Just happy to found one that works.

I wouldn't move yet. Hang ten for another month or 2, let CW iron out the kinks first.
