CSGO Sticky thread

I am going to take a bit of a break from CS until Valve can sort out its issues. My game keeps crashing after the last two updates. The game also has problems with hit registration, which I believe is related to the flow of packets between the client and the server. It seems that Subtick is rejecting certain packets for unknown reasons. I frequently receive console notifications informing me that my tick has been adjusted.

I tested some of the popular online games I have installed and none of them have this issue. I am curious to try Dota2, but eh... Everything is proper from the networking side of things.

Either the Valve servers are considering my connection as inferior or the hitching caused by AMD GPUs is creating problems. I tried my best last night to report this to Valve directly, as I think my game crashes may also have something to do with AMD.

In the last three AMD updates (incl. the hot fix), Adrenalin is also broken. Impossible to save profiles.

I had packet loss with CSGO, but it was nowhere as bad as with CS2.
Why not play some casual?

Why not play some casual?

I do on occasion. It is just that to compensate for the issues I am changing how and where to aim, how to hold angels, and timings of swinging. It is just making me a worse player overall because of bad repetition.

Last night I just threw in the towel when I dinked an enemy twice with an AK. There were no hits when registering the sound queues. After that I was not defeated by my opponents but by Valve.

I would like this to be tested in an instance which isn't local, and where there are at least 10 players in the session. Just to see whether the hit box, and hit box movements are in sync with everyone.

Everyone who does these tests does it locally.

The reason why there is peekers advantage could be due to the hit box trailing the player model. Basically the game is hit scan, but the server gets to guess whether it was a hit registration or not.

Now, this is a twitch shooter, and the sub-tick will be designed around that gameplay philosophy, but you can't introduce a handicap.

Anyhow, I know nothing about sub-tick and how it works, so I can only hope that Valve sorts it out.

Valve data miners, and evangelists, contradicted qkNorris when he last made a video. It was deemed counterproductive by many.

All these videos provide good information. But it doesn't show how this works in a session with many clients who have different latencies and qualities.

Funny, when I last played a comp on Anubis. I pre-fired an angle, only to eliminate an enemy before he peeked. That night I had major non-hit regs, except for that one.

It is one thing figuring out how to click register, but it is another to know where the hit boxes are within those frames. Why does it seem that some players are more in-sync than others? We now know that play models and hitboxes don't line up.

I had games which were super smooth, and others which were messed up.

I wonder if my game crashes are related to a memory leak problem, as this can also cause your operating system to become unresponsive.

I saw a player do this in a casual match. For a moment I thought that the player was cheating but died easily. Meh.

Still though, under the right conditions it could mess up a game.

Apparently it can be done with an analog keyboard? Though since it is analog, it could be scripted too.

This is likely to be patched soon.

There's a post on Reddit with a script to do this with any kb...I assume it's going to be very popular over the next few days.

I can't remember it, but it was apparently also possible with CSGO in its early days, but was patched out.

The problem of hit box alignment was also a big issue in Source.

De-sub-tick was also figured out during the early stages of the limited test. How many players are de-sub-ticking their jump and strafe is unknown, but I am curious how it affects other clients.

It seems CS2 now has more premium cheats than CSGO ever had. All the PUGB, Apex, CoD, Fortnite, Valorant cheat developers are now bringing out cheats for CS2. This market is insane.

Assuming it works the same as it worked on CSGO, no. I would hope it doesn't work the same

CSGO has had a free radar hack for years. As long as you knew how to inject it, you could get away with it. This new hack seems to make direct calls. Don't know though, I saw the new cheat demoed, but they didn't show its radar.

Concerning cheats, so far my local experience has been for the most part clean. I have had no more than four suspicions, of which I only reported three for walling. I am not talking of casual since it is always chaotic, there is no point in looking for cheaters there.

There are many new accounts that I believe are alt accounts of experienced players.

Given the bugs of the game, like the peekers advantage issue, it is a bit counterproductive to cheater detection. I don't think Valve is training VACnet at the moment anyway; there are no demos to sample and train reports on. A lot of bans which are happening now will be temp bans.

The game does feel better with every patch.
