I was last man standing and walked past an AWP in the one round (I had the Scar20 at the time) and man did I get shouted at for not picking it up before the round ended.

So I told him if he wanted it so bad he should stay alive longer and get it himself :D

GeT_RiGhT loves the noob cannons. I still do not get why so many players bitch and moan about the automatic scope weapons. These weapons are in the game; weapons are situational. The pro players do not call noob on those using these weapons, the immature bunch do. People should take it up with Valve, not the users.
 
I am a noob so I will stick with my AUG or SS553 or SCAR thankyouverymuch :D

I am not proficient enough to AWP yet so why must I be at a disadvantage and be taken out around the first corner I take because someone else from the opposing team doesn't approve of my choice of weapon?

It's not about noobiness so much as economy. There's never a reason to buy any rifle apart from the AK / M4 or sniper rifle other than scout / awp. You're sacrificing nades probably to buy the Tier 2 weapons.

You do you, man. Just know you'll be a better player in a holistic way when you can use the cheaper guns effectively.

I'm in the same position with smg's...almost never use those and I should. Especially after winning round 1 and the other team is unlikely to be able to go to rifles without sacrificing equipment.
 
Dust2 is a very tricky map to economize on. At least for me. Galil/AK/Famas/M4 doesn't seem to work as the spaces are too open for it. I know a proficient player with an AK or M4 can do some serious damage but for someone who has been AWPed before he even sees the guy down the other side of the map, I know I am just bashing my head against a wall until I can get my snap shooting up to scratch and miraculously halve my ping ;)

Depends on the economy, which roles are best suited and how the team is trained. The more the game is played, the more is expected by individuals in solo queuing, the more important it is to listen to the caller. This is mainly why we do have ranks in CSGO, and there are many globals playing with noob cannons.
 
I don't mind the noob cannons. Just don't ever ask me to pick one up. I find a P90 more useful than a noob cannon.
 
I played a few rounds now after the update and I do agree, the new sounds are going to take some getting used to.

Whether they are for the better remains to be seen. As an aside, I got three AWP kills (and got killed by an AWP thirty-three times) :p

Do you not maybe want to play Deathmatch to practise flicking etc with the AWP?
