Prodigy : "Guys, why's my name white but all yours are blue?"

Did you enable player tags?

"No, I just added Urbanspawn in front of my name. "

We can now start to organise some matches, this will help to rank up the players. The Nova bunch needs to do some comps together, once the players reach MG then we can be more open to harder matches. Playing unbalanced comps are punishing, but we need to do a couple to introduce players to a harder skill set. Bunny is an MG, though he is ranked Nova, and Prod is MGE.

Yah, I will need to do strats with you all, that is why I got iScreaM to play together because we played together and we do have strats and understand how we move by simply looking at the radar on the rotate. It helps to win matches. When it comes to crunch, you must crunch. Btw, those two matches we played was winnable, only needed teamwork and a bit more oomph.

I want to show Foxy the ropes, the three shooting styles, but I will advise him to enable recoil on the crosshair. Enable this in the console: cl_crosshairstyle 5 He has aim, but he needs to work on his awareness and timings. It will also help to have the player which plays with him on site to assist him with commands as to when to rotate and where to provide cover. Game sense comes with time.

Generally, I think that the team is doing well on CT side, much better at holding positions than taking positions. On T side the team will need to learn how to do things together. Look, you have 100 health (and armour), you can take some punishment, don’t be scared to push. Trade kills are crucial to competitive mode. You only withdraw when there is tactically a better plan to reach success. Lastly, stick to your site A or B, and only change when it is called by the caller. You want kills, go play casual.

^, @Foxy -
When CT - for now, sit deep in whichever site you're playing and hold a safe angle on the entry point (if any angle can be considered safe). Use your ears and eyes to stay alive...you don't have to take every fight that comes along. A dink (headshot that doesn't kill) and the enemy runs away, is great. Whoever's playing with you on that site will help out with info and the other teammates calls will tell the both of you whether to move.

Till you're getting on top of your aim and angles and getting kills left right and centre, always buy kevlar over a better gun (no M4 without kevlar) - if your team is buying that round, that is. Doing both those (holding a safe angle at distance and getting kevlar) will give you more time when you get into a fight. A UMP with kevlar is much better than an M4 without kevlar. Keep an eye on the money...it runs out fast if you're forcing each round.

When you're T, stick to the middle of the pack if it's all 5 heading somewhere OR follow the bomb if there's a split. On entry into a site, shoot stuff :)...you should know dust2 a bit by now and will know common spots where people hide. Call out if you see someone - I don't know all the terms for the different maps so that gets a bit messy. "On-site" if the enemy is on the bomb site is cool - other maps, you'll learn the names of specific features as we go along. Post-plant, find a spot where you can only be seen from the entry point you're going to watch - tell your team what you're watching and chill. Don't move or leave your angle until someone says something and even then, consider what might happen if you leave that spot. I don't have any clean advice on whether you should leave and help a teamie or keep holding - that's a judgement call. If there's only one CT left, taking the fight while he's busy with your teammate is cool. If you have low health, maybe keep hiding. Clutch situations like that separate the best players from the good ones - I'm not good at that yet.

Do what I do, throw smoke at the entry point and make a spectacular entrance. YOLO.

Didn't even cover retakes in that...that's a whole thing unto itself. I guess you could see it as entering when you're T but that hasn't worked out for me too well :o

Tonight I will play. Just don't be harsh on me, I'm still a silver at heart.

I solo queue a lot. I see no issue with solo queuing.

Solo is fun, you never know what you going to get, but if you want to rank up it's tough cause its unpredictable.

Invited a bunch of you. If I missed someone - entirely possible and unintentional - let me know and I'll add you.

me too?

SA servers seem to be down... only Europe servers again...

Yup no games for me yesterday.

And as long as they don't have armour it is easy peasy.

Yeah, I use the M4A1-S as my default for CT and the AK47 as the default for T. The headshot thing is good when it works out, but if the other guy I'm facing has an AWP and I need to crouch to get a stable headshot then I can just say my prayers.

Ok, so let's talk Dust 2 quickly coz that's what I'm most familiar with.

Why in yesterday's comp, when we were T did nobody try and sneak through mid? Sure I get that there's usually somebody with an AWP behind it at the start, but listen to this...

One of the rounds I ran to the right from B through Uppers and Lowers (while some other poor suckers were getting shot to hell trying to get through the doorway) and went down the stairs and through the doorway at mid. What I saw was two CT's running up through CT Spawn towards A, and nobody else in there.

Doesn't that make THAT the better way to go? Any CT defending A or B is usually hidden within the bombsite, not looking down towards mid. At any rate you've got a bit more space and more cover options in mid than you do going down Long towards A or the doorway to B.

Finally, once you're in mid you've got three attack options within easy distance of each other (and the ability to rotate between them quickly).

i agree, running down mid is a good idea (i dont do it myself coz generally the CT awper can get you really easy, just got to rely on your awper in T spawn) but it will only work unless u or the T awper can get the mid CT

Thanks, will do that, and looking forward to the master class :) Speaking of crosshairs, I changed my crosshair mode to 'Static Standard' (the default had been Dynamic). Was that good or bad? I also ended up selecting a crosshair style that changes to a cross if it's a teammate in front of me rather than an enemy, it maybe doesn't help that much except for distant enemies.
