CSGO Sticky thread

Division 2 is a hot pile (based on the beta) . Apex is where it's at...
Did you play the Beta?

I played about 10 hours, loved it. Didn't have any issues except once a distant sniper not loading so I couldn't shoot back, and dropping server connection once. What issues did you have?

Tried to get into it but meh, still have it though and play occasionally.

CSGO is slowly losing its casual touch. The pro scene is still going strong as is the third-party services, but it is indicative that F2P alienated the paid player base to some extent.

Gabe must be pissed at EA and Respawn, developing a game on Battle Royale on their open-source engine without listing it on Steam using SteamWorks.

You know, there was so much talk about +500k VAC bans in December, thanks to CSGO going F2P, that nobody looked at the January bans which are more than 1M!!! and February isn’t going to look any better.

VAC bans, come on it is only really CSGO and Team Fortress 2 still using that schit Valve called VAC and VACnet sucks.

Nothing wrong but just felt clunky. Played apex before jumping on the beta for D2 and didn't enjoy it

Yeah the whole thing was a bit much for me, being so out of touch and not to mention the pace. I played maybe about 30 min before shutting it down and getting COD4 with Pezbots, by God that's fun but it kinda sucks playing alone.

Not really a comparison that can be drawn though, they're completely different games. EIther way, if it's not for you then so be it. I loved it though.

Interestingly though, every avid The Division player I talked to about The Division 2 told me that it is ‘clunky’, but that they are expecting better end-game content.

I stopped playing online ‘only’ games the day I got married and only got back into it about a year ago. I am late to The Division 1, but it got my attention and I will surely get 2 next month.

My only concern is the game editions. I have read every thread, every Q&A and FAQ on the editions and Ubi isn’t very transparent.

All I know is that beyond the base edition it will include more cosmetics, inventory and stash slots and also 7-day early DLC access, but there is other mentioned content that they don’t elaborate on. Oh well, will have to see.

Anyhow, will leave this thread to the CSGO remnants.

CS: GO Bans Clock in at Nearly 1 Million for January 2019, Setting a New Record
Ever since the Danger Zone update for CS: GO, adding a Battle Royale mode and making the game free-to-play, a massive influx of CS: GO bans have occurred. Due to the game being free-to-play now, the floodgates for hackers and cheaters are well and truly open. In December 2018, the CS: GO bans reached an all-time high, but January 2019’s ban count completely crushed it.

Related: CS: GO Bans Reached An All-Time High After The Game Went Free-to-Play

In December, Valve swung its mighty banhammer, hitting a whopping 622,000 accounts. January’s CS: GO bans come in at a mind-blowing 921,404. That’s nearly 1 million CS: GO accounts that have been VAC banned last month alone. This is a massive influx, to say the least, and even now there are still reports of cheaters and hackers making the rounds. This information comes from SteamDB, showing the results for all to gander at.

Before December 2018, CS: GO bans per month never reached 200,000 and in November 2018, there were 100,000 VAC bans. This massive influx of bans has to be because the game went free-to-play, there is no doubt about that. Hopefully, Valve continues to clean up the game by swinging their mighty banhammer.

The problem here is that since the game is free-to-play, cheaters can just continue to create new accounts. Simply banning an account isn’t going to stop them from creating new once and ruining the experience for others. Hopefully, Valve will implement more safeguard to keep those nasty cheaters away.

What do you think about the massive influx of CS: GO bans and could it reach 1 million bans this month? Let us know in the comment section below.

Actually,

4 of my pick 'em teams I picked to make it through the Challenger stage are 1-2 (3 wins to make it through, 3 losses and the team is out). Lol.

At least I've got the 0-3 pick right...thanks, Greyhound.

Virtus.pro parts with pashaBiceps
Virtus.pro announced Wednesday it has terminated the contract of Jaroslaw "pashaBiceps" Jarzabkowski after five years with the team.

The 30-year-old Polish player said he will explore other options in CS:GO.

"Virtus.pro has been my home for many years, but now it's time to move ahead and make a next big step for me," pashaBiceps said in a statement. "Thanks to everyone and good luck to the new guys. I will take a small break, but Papito will be back like Terminator -- better and stronger."

pashaBiceps is one of the most celebrated Counter-Strike players of all time, with a career spanning more than a decade.

In December, VP temporarily ceased competitive operations and ultimately revamped its active lineup. The Polish organization moved pashaBiceps and Piotr "morelz" Taterka to inactive status and released Filip "Neo" Kubski.

@Neoprod maybe there is some truth in that rumour now :p Actually, I would like the older legends to show the kids how.

Sad to see Pasha go... :crying:
